I think I brought up Iraq as a possible answer to your question of what changed in America.

Regardless I'm out for a bit. 19

I'm not attacking you, I think buzz ignoring you when you are trying to join the discussion is wrong but that's on him.

I've no issue with you whatsoever.  smile

Come on guys. I thought we drew a line in the sand.

The thing I think a lot of people don't get is all this is not an American problem, its a global problem that will require a global solution. America takes the brunt of the blame simply because they are currently the biggest, strongest, but what happens in the rest of the world dictates American policy so its all globally evolving the end of the day.

With how information is digested now I do smell a huge revolution of some kind is coming, maybe even in our lifetime. Will it be a good thing or bad? Well have to wait an see.

Listen, I'd be thrilled to stay out of most of the international conflicts that we get into, so I'm certainly not an advocate of any of this.  But the reality is we are the free world's police force whether we like it or not.  That's why many of those countries don't spend like we do.  If we didn't, they'd have no choice but to spend more.

People globally may view us negatively, but we get the first call from anyone facing issues they don't know how to solve regardless of what that issue is.  You cannot expect us to bail countries out when they are in trouble then expect us to walk away allowing whatever it was to happen again.  We're going to protect our interests.  You can't have one without the other.  Not the way things are now or have been since WWI.  Regardless of why we were in the Middle East, just leaving wasn't an option.  Obama wanted to do it and knew he couldn't.  If we're going to be everybody's big brother, there's a cost that goes along with it.

Absolutely, Europe has to hold a lot of the blame for how America is globally. At the same time I think the US needs to step back and stop letting Europe use them whenever it suits. Let these European countries sort most shit out themselves. They are too dependent on your military and it simply costs you too much. It cannot go on forever.

To be clear, I think this side of the pond has fallen out with some of your policies, but they support the American people strongly as seen all across the world.

Here's another chart supporting my point...

Those who think we are too far left but have no problem with this need to check themselves. We don't have money for Obamacare? We don't have money for schools? We don't have money for police pensions? But we have endless money for nearly a dozen conflicts in the world.

If we really were 'too far left' this isn't how we'd be spending our money.

The war in Iraq is an abysmal failure and it goes on and on. No end in sight. No objective.

I have seen no ostensible benefit to this for me or anyone that I know. Some war profiteers are really living it up though.

Even the China budget is ridiculous when such poverty exists there.

Convictions are going to be tough for 3 of the officers I think particularly the trainee. Imagine what will happen if any get off? I dread the thought.
