Maybe? That the impression I got too.
If you think about it. Ali is an anagram for Lia which is something you cannot spell Liar without which leads me to conclude that Ali is in fact a bot developed by Pitman to retain GNR's reputation in the online community.

Me too. I think it's a better solo personally

I'm sure it sounds counter-intuitive at first, making an area specifically for the thing we are trying to get rid of. But if you think about it what we want to get rid of is the negativity on the boards as a whole, by focusing it in one area that people can chose to take or leave we're cordoning off an area while catering to everyone involved.
Just my 2 cents.

Seeing as there's a lot of upset over the negativity and the fighting on here I've an idea.
How about a sub-forum called something like "Get in the Ring". Where fighting and arguing about who is best Slash or Axl is allowed? We ban it in the rest of the board but allow it in there? Like a Gladiators arena in ancient Rome. That will keep the fighting all in one thread, allowing those who want to vent a space to do it, and those no interested can just steer clear of the thread?
Personally I think this is the only way to contain the madness, it will give a place for people to express while at the same time cleaning up the rest of the board for those who dislike negativity. I've seen this work on philosophy forums, they do it on those quite a lot in fact. It's a great system and is really worth some serious part on the behalf of the mods. If it's good enough for Rome ya know
Seriously though it's a good idea I've seen it clear up many an unruly board. If someone kicks off in a thread about Axl Vs Slash or about the uselessness of the new GNR then they are told to go to the "Ring" and hammer out their issue there instead of derailing threads and annoying the rest of us.
Takers.???

Heard about this guy a while back and started listening to him. Can't find his stuff anywhere on youtube but my god is he good! He's like an Eddie Vedder meets acoustic Alice in Chains. Been following him ons soundcloud for an age and he just released this.
Stay away and Carnival show are excellent

^^Fair point also

I don't get the worship for Kim's playing. He is very good, but a lot of mindless shred that goes no where. And with a wah, almost anyone can sound good playing fast, covers the slop.
Yeah totally. But if it sounds good it sounds good. It doesn't need to be meticulously formalized to sound good to cause an emotional reaction in a listener.

Sky Dog wrote:I'm sorry. But nobody loved Duff that much (only on a Gnr board with some crazy fuckin fanatics)....he was just another bass player and was a burned out fat, alcoholic junkie during the UYI era. I was there. I actually know. People knew and still know Gnr as Axl/Slash.

And it is this way with GNR ex-members still: headlines are always "GNR drummer (news)" or "GNR bass player (news)" and the content is always one paragraph news, three of old days, being two about Axl. Exception may be Slash, but only lately.
Yeah I think that's down to Guitar Hero 3 a lot. The game was released in late October 2007, in 2008 it had sold 3.475 million units worldwide. That put Slash in 3.475 million homes worldwide in 2008 alone. He's not just in the game, he's the main feature of the cover. In 2008 Chinese Democracy sold 614,000 copies. Guitar Hero 3 was Slash's biggest post GNR exposure. Slash has never broke the million mark on a solo album and probably never will. He broke 3 million with Guitar Hero 3. In my opinion, GH3 separated Slash from his GNR past, in the eyes of about 3 million people. He wasn't Slash from GNR on there he was just Slash. It's ironic because Axl sued him for being in it and appearing as though eh was GNR. Which in my opinion he didn't really do. He was there as a solo act. Anyway. That's way off topic.

I get what you're saying Riad, but I don't even think that's the deal here. I really think that there's some people out there claiming to be all offended by it.
You're right, I mean personally I try to insulate myself from that kind of person in my daily life, a short conversation with one would alienate them anyway, but there is a sense of "crying wolf" in terms of racism when someone mentions harmless cultural racial stereotypes.
As far as this Volkswagon one goes. like BLS said it would be totally ok if it were the other way around and I couldn't agree more with Bono about it being people just looking for something to be upset about.
True that.
