Kinda like the Republicans have disowned Hagel for speaking out against the clusterfuck that defines his party's stubbornness: the Iraq War. It goes both ways. Any time someone crosses the aisle to work with the other side they are accused of being traitors. It's part of the problem in this country right now. The fact that McCain has spent years getting ridiculed by the right so much that he's had to pander out the ass to them during this campaign is another example of how everything seems to fall along party lines, not necessarily along the lines of common sense. It sucks and it needs to change, but of course we know it never will.

Of course there's no excuse for Obama. As I said, he was playing politics and it bit him in the ass 20 years later. But then again, perhaps he never would have gotten much of a start in his political career without that church's help. No excuse to be part of that, none whatsoever.

I'm not talking about that. I'm talking all the bullshit that was being spread by conservatives for months before the Wright thing. "Obama's a Muslim. Scary black Muslim...ooohh!!!!"

And let me ask you something. Do you have proof that Wright has ever tried to kill a white person or put them at the back of the bus? Because I'm pretty sure Wright lived through that shit decades ago and has actually helped whites, not tried to hurt them. He blames whites for the problems in the black community. That is irresponsible but I don't see how it's possible for someone who has no history of racism to actually be a fucking racist. The man helped save LBJ's life in the operating room. You do realize this of course? The man is a conspiracy theorist nutjob. Not a racist. Ask Bill Clinton if he thinks Wright is a racist. Ask LBJ if he thinks he's a racist.

Now let me ask you this question. I've seen pictures of you and I know you're in your 30's and white. If you grew up when Wright did and dealt with racism, would you forget it? What's that old saying, "Forgive but never forget"? Well it seems Wright is one of those who not only won't forget but won't forgive either. He's a shitty ass pastor, along the lines of Falwell. Religion should not be politicized, but yet Mr. Wright chose to do that style of preaching for decades.

As for Obama, his affiliation with that church was strictly political in my opinion. He was always viewed as an outsider in the black community due to being half-white and Harvard-educated. He needed to gain credibility in Chicago with the black community, so he joined an activist black church. The irrational fear that he would somehow put whites into slavery or something is pretty laughable when you look at the people who actually surround him. It's mostly white Democrats from the Bill Clinton administration (ahem...not exactly "change we can believe in" eh?). For all intents and purposes as a politician, Obama is no different than a typical white Democrat in his policies.

Looks like the stock market responded strong today. Thank goodness.
