What an asshat. Apparently, a person should not be taken at their word when they're caught through microphones saying something that doesn't jive with their political campaign's position. What a jackass.

PaSnow, the point about him not looking the enemy in the eye is an interesting one. If he can't separate an American politician from Vietnamese war criminals, then either he has a serious case of PTSD or some other kinds of issues that make his temperament unacceptable for the office of President of the United States. It's not an acceptable excuse and never will be. Politics is not war. Perhaps McCain should learn that.

Saikin, forget the pictures. The man's own record as a politician could be used to call him a racist. He was against the MLK holiday. How fucked up is that?!

If McCain does not correct his behavior in the upcoming debates, you can bet the media narrative is going to be pretty tough on him. For the first debate, everyone is kind of in a "WTF was that?" moment, but if it continues, it then becomes pretty clear that it's not an anomaly, that it's some kind of strategy on his part, or at least a sign of a major character flaw. Fuck, I would say looking an opponent in the eye is one of the things we would most want in a President. It makes our country look weak if we have a President who goes to have a meeting with someone he disagrees with from another country and refuses to ever look them in the eye.
