I think Chinese D itself should have been the first single. Either that or Better, or like James said, Riyadh. That song used to get a lot of shit for some reason, but once we got a studio quality leak, I was very impressed by it. I had never actually heard the damn thing before that time. I'd only heard all the bitching on the forums about it from when it was played live at some point. Anyway, it is a pretty catchy, hard rock song. Better is catchy as hell. And Chinese D has tons of aggression and catchiness to it as well.

So what is the expected release date? November 25ish? My birthday is the 26th. I will be home after work on my birthday to spend the holiday weekend with my family (employer gave us Black Friday off). And since Christmas falls on a Thursday this year, I'm going to be skipping work on that Friday so I can have another long holiday weekend since my employer is NOT giving us the day after Christmas. They are giving us Christmas Eve though, so I'll be leaving on Tuesday night. The funny thing is, I don't think anyone (including the head honchos) will actually show up on that Friday. No way in hell am I flying back on Christmas night. What a joke to ask that of employees.

It all depends on how its promoted. If its Shackler 2.0, no one gives a shit. If its actually promoted with Axl making the rounds giving info, more people will pay attention to the track and listen to it. If it hits Itunes, then it really gets put to the test.
Its a shock to the system for some GNR fans. Its basically Simply Red with Bucket on guitar.
My problem with the song is not the music, but rather Axl's repetitive lyrics. Something about him ending two straight lines with "me" at the very beginning of the song bothers the hell out of me.

If the song is "If The World," then I hope that's a sign it is (1) not on the album and/or (2) not being released as a single. It is my least favorite of all the new GN'R songs.

Update: I've been told by someone who claims to have seen an advance/press screening (of which I've attended many, this would be the right timeframe) and confirms that there is indeed a Guns tune played over the end credits. No other details as of yet, including whether or not it was even a new song or just an old standby. But what I'm being told by fairly reliable sources I've used for other things in the past, there is a Guns song in this movie.
We need someone on the inside (the press) who has heard all the leaks to give us the lowdown on it. Sounds like your friend did not recognize the song, probably because he/she hasn't even heard the leaks. I'm hoping the song is entirely new of course, but I won't be surprised if it's one of the leaks.

Whew... Dave was P-I-S-S-E-D.
That was an absolute owning of everything that has been the McCain/Palin ticket, and then to have Olberfuror on the show was rubbing salt in the wound.
Wow. And the thing is, everything Dave was saying was totally valid points.
This move on McCain's will make or break him. We'll look back in late November say it was absolutely brillaint, or it was utterly stupid.
Looks like it was utterly stupid. He showed up today and actually caused more problems than good. Many of the people involved in the negotiations said they were very close to having the deal completely hammered out until McCain showed up today and actually created a group of dissenters on the Republican side. But in the media you will hear him claiming he is trying to be "bi-partisan" when it actually sounds like he stirred up some shit instead of helping the process.

Bush just called Obama and told him to meet with McCain and congressional leaders to figure out this economic crisis.
This election makes me want to puke.
It just keeps getting worse. By next week, Jim Nabors will announce he's running as an independent and will win in a landslide.
Nothing will surprise me from this point forward.
Bush invited Obama and McCain to have a meeting with him on it. What's wrong with that?

What's amazing is that the Illusion albums did half of AFD's numbers, yet are not near as respected.
There's artists out there that NEVER had an album go 7x platinum. GN'R have two, AND one with 18x plat.
Damn.
Plus who in the fuck other than GN'R has an EP that goes 5x? AN EP! A platinum COVERS album.
When you see this stuff, you know CD will do major bank on the GN'R name alone.
In reality the Illusions are a double album. So technically it's around 14 million sold, and I wouldn't be surprised if that is lowballed as well. Probably more in the 16-18 million range at this point.

McCain wants to stall the VP debate. Not surprising, although I think picking a woman as his running mate was a good strategy in terms of dealing with Biden. Biden was always going to tear apart whoever his running mate was in the debate, but by picking a woman, they can play the "he's being too tough on her" card. This forces Biden to be more restrained during the debate, but there is no doubt that Palin is getting a lot of quick schooling on all the major issues. The more time they can give her to prepare, the better (in their eyes). So it's not at all surprising that they would want to stall the VP debate. The economic meltdown gives McCain a valid excuse to postpone the first debate at the top of the ticket, so it's not shocking that he'd use that excuse to buy more time for his running mate. Biden is just about as good of a debater in national politics as we've seen in recent times. A lot of people felt he won all of the Democratic debates that he participated in during this year's campaign.
