Bucket owned the rest of it.

Anyone really surprised?

Just imagine how much better the overall reception of CD would've been had this album been released in the early 2000s before the tracks were over-produced to the point there got to by 2008.

That’s the 14 million dollar question.

I think although musically and personal wise it was a much better time, we were in deep feud territory. In 2000 Axl was literally the asshole christ who forced Slash and the band to sign GNR over to him and he’s on stage with dreads and playing nu metal. There was no media support, no rec comp support, barely any fan support as one might know. Try saying you liked Madagascar or Riad in 2000. That didn’t start to melt until CD came out and Axl had found some more relatable members and touring without rec comp support for years. They toured CD to death to establish songs and Axl proved he could do it.

But in a way it’s wrong question. In 2000 the record would have been ranting in the hostility and certain songs like Silkworms would have their moment. But I think it would have been the end of new Guns without the full story being told. It ideally would set off a series of albums but it more likely would have been evidence Axl couldn’t make it without Slash, even with average sales. More power to the rec comp. Given Slash and Axl’s relationship it wouldn’t have been let’s do a reunion in 2002. Overall it’s never been about how good the material is, it’s this business oriented corporate media bias that has to be navigated with so much to lose and potentially nothing to gain.

Breakdown next.

Pretty Tied Up for Izzy’s return.

If Izzy ever guests again, I want him to do 14 Years. Getting to see him sing it at GN'R's O2 performance was great, but the solo was all twiddly-widdly excess, and was missing Slash's groove.

Sounds good. It’s crazy how much Izzy would change the set list.

I think Pretty Tied Up would be more like a cool band song to do or whatever. That n Breakdown seem like they were written for the OG reunion.

Dead Horse and Locomotive would be a good combo.

Bucket is playing Elvis/Soul Monster? If so Axl has laid vocals on it.

Sets up a great live show scenario for Axl to stop the show. You know an album is coming when Axl is stopping shows in front 100k people in South America.

I won’t have closure personally until I have the 2002 album as intended and a copy of that same album with instrumentals. And This I Love.

I’d love to hear finished Soul Monster, etc. but I fell in love with GNR because of Chinese Democracy and the songs that made the record.

So give me those and I’m happy and I can close this chapter of my life.

Didn’t the 2002 Bucket album leak, isn’t that what that squirrel guy leak? Or was that after CD came out? I remember CD songs without Ron and Frank leaking. Bucket fans were saying these were the songs before Ron etc.

I’d take a shot at the 2010 possible finished CD II and the Bucket sessions from 2004.

The ultimate would CD II finished version with Slash and Duff on it. If Slash and Duff wrote 1 rocker and maybe another Slash epic, with Down by the Ocean, that is basically most GNR albums writing wise. So it’s not out of the realms of possibility. Getting material from all eras of GNR but with Slash and the current line up locking it down, that would be closure of the end.

They basically did have 4 albums of material. Disc 2 is like CD II. Some of it was brought into Disc 1 for CD then TIL was the secret weapon. I need to hear disc 2 to complete the mission. Pablo Mora did not die in vain.
