Old news. Obama had like $230mil back in the primaries. McCain opted for the alloted money.
Obama/Biden better be careful to not use the word 'elitist Republicans' or that whole 'McCain has 7 houses' thing, because the kind of money Obama has for his election will leave him WIDE OPEN for attack.
The small time, for the working class Democrat has THREE TIMES the money for his campaign than the big business Republican.
You do realize it was McCain that first attacked Obama as being elitist right? The hypocrisy on this issue was strictly coming from the Republicans. They chose to make that an issue, and it backfired with the houses gaffe. Why in God's name McCain was attacking Obama as elitist when his wife is worth $100 million and has said "the only way to get around Arizona is by private jet" is beyond me. It was an idiotic choice by his campaign to attack Obama on that front.
The fact is, all politicians are elitists. They're all arrogant, and they have so many connections it's not even funny. In my opinion, the "elitism" charge should fall on deaf ears with the average voter because, as I said, they are all elitists. They don't live life the way we do. They have no idea what normal Americans go through on a daily basis. When you are a Senator like the two presidential candidates, you probably have a limousine, private jet, etc. and never even have a clue what the price of milk is for instance. Their handlers take care of everything for them.

McCain raised 47 million in the same month. Funny that McCain leads in most polls with this money gap. Shows you cant buy your way into the White House. Besides, McCain doesn't have to waste time with almost daily fundraisers like Obama does. Of course Obama is going to have more money. He HAS to have fundraisers or he runs the risk of running out of money in the home stretch. Even dems have admitted that Obama shouldn't have declined public financing. While McCain is talking issues on the campaign trail, Obama, Oprah and other fat cat liberals will be forced into wasting time on fundraisers while bloggers smear Palin to death and sink his candidacy.
I hope he raises a billion. The current strategy is working perfectly. McCain should be losing by epic proportions but its not happening.
The problem is, McCain ISN'T talking "issues." More like distracting people from real issues while complaining about stupid shit like "lipstick on a pig."

I totally agree. Obama has got to stop these smear tactics, If he wants to use "negative" ads, go right ahead. However, 24/7 smears on liberal websites and on news networks has backfired tremendously. Not blaming him for that, I'm blaming his base for that. He needs to tell them to stop immediately.
Yeah, not picking Hillary was a massive mistake, but hindsight is 20/20. While she would have partially neutralized the Palin craze, she is a liberal senator just like Obama and you don't want the top and bottom of your ticket being the same thing. The Biden pick makes no sense and never will. He needed a governor or someone like Wes Clark to shore up his ticket.
Not talking about the issues favors the republicans, and for some reason the democrats don't realize this yet. When Huffington informs the world they are idiots for liking Palin, it just causes more people to like Palin.
He already told them to stop. They won't listen, just like the right wing sites are STILL calling Obama a Muslim and STILL using blatant racism against him, even after McCain tells them to stop. Extremists are extremists. They will do what they want.

Classic case of the boy who cried wolf. Even when and if (huge "if," of course) the official announcement comes from Universal, plenty of us will STILL not believe it's coming out until we actually own it.

People all over the country are attacking each side, you can't blame it on McCain or Obama. I could google something at any time of day and find someone saying something negative about McCain or Obama.
Exactly. But you can hold them accountable for what comes from the campaigns themselves. That's why I like Factcheck.org. They even called out the McCain campaign for claiming that Factcheck.org had said the Obama campaign was responsible for smears on Palin, which is not the truth. That would be like if Obama put out an ad claiming that Factcheck.org has said the McCain campaign is responsible for all of the lies about him being a Muslim and black nationalist, etc. They call out both campaigns on a regular basis for their distortions and outright lies. They also set the facts straight about Internet rumors regarding all of the candidates, and they make damn clear that the other campaign is not responsible for those rumors. It's the nutjob blogs on the left and right that are responsible for these chain emails and swirling rumors about each of the politicians.

Kinda like the Republican Georgia state congressman recently calling Obama "uppity" and then claiming he doesn't know that there's a racial connotation in the use of that word. If you think either campaign has control over loose cannons like that, then you're giving them a lot more credit than they deserve. Obama can't control the asshats on his side that aren't directly affiliated with his campaign and McCain can't control the asshats on his side that aren't directly affiliated with his campaign. And even then, it's difficult to control even the people who are directly affiliated to the campaigns.
