I'm going to see The X-Files sometime this weekend but I think I'm finally gonna see TDK in IMAX at some point too.
That is the only way to watch it. All of the establishing shots of the city's skyline are in IMAX plus all the major action sequences. I saw it last night in a regular theater and it simply doesn't compare at all. And ironically, I enjoyed the movie more this time. Perhaps it's b/c I didn't have an idiot doing text messaging the entire time next to me with a cell phone light right in my peripheral vision. Or perhaps it's simply because I was able to follow the little details better this time around.

$203.77 million in just 5 days. It's already broken the 7-day record by $7.7 million and it still has 2 days to earn some more cash. This, my friends, is fucking nuts. It's headed for a 10-day gross around $310-320 million. The previous record is $258 million.

It was most likely a verbal domestic dispute. Happens all the time I suppose, and obviously you cant get arrested for yelling at anybody.
If it was directed at his mother, its pretty low class.
Like you said though, we'll see which direction this story goes.
His mother and sister are apparently substance abusers. I think it's best to let all the facts come out before believing the headlines entirely. There are supposedly eyewitnesses who said the two of them basically ambushed him.

I didn't watch it last night, but I think I'll check it out tonight. Loved the video game, so hopefully the movie is pretty much the same thing.
As I said, it feels like a different movie than TDK for sure. Much slower pace. Tons of character development with Bruce Wayne, Rachel, and Alfred.

Yeah under most circumstances I will not watch a sequel before the original, but I had dragged my ass for years not watching Begins, and since the opportunity came up to watch this, I went ahead and did it before I waited too long and it left theaters.
I have Begins now, although reluctant to watch it after that ordeal. Might try it out tonight though.
I will say this. TDK feels like a completely different movie from Begins. Begins has a much slower pace for the first hour of it. It's an origin story so it's mostly about Bruce Wayne.

1. Sick of the hype
2. Its an "event"movie, and I usually go watch those types.
3. Perfect opportunity popped up to go see it last night.
4. Everyone was telling me Batman Begins wasn't required viewing for this, as its a more "stand alone" sequel.

NOW we're getting somewhere. You are comparing it to Nicholson's Joker. Here is where we agree 1000000000000000000000000000000000000%. Nicholson was god awful in that, and yes Ledger does indeed "own" that performance in every way possible.
However, when you start saying(well, not just you but alot of people) that its the "performance of the ages", well I strongly disagree and could write out a telephone book sized list of performances that are better.
To slightly change the subject a bit......
Any of you people loving this film against the Joker coming back one more time? Its obvious by how this ended that they were gonna do that.
Yes, I'm against it unless one of two actors plays it: DDL or Depp. DDL because he dedicated his SAG award to Heath when the entire awards show was trying to ignore the tragedy that has just occurred a few days ago. DDL is such a class act and probably the best actor on the planet. Depp has a similar nose and facial structure to Heath, plus he is also a great actor like DDL. Otherwise, I am completely against them re-casting it.
Still trying to figure out why you paid money to see the sequel before even watching the first movie. You set yourself up for disappointment.

I was posting in regards to your other comment and missed this.
Two Face is the main plot? Someone should have sent us non hardcores that memo. This movie didn't know what it wanted to be. How is Two Face the main plot when it only bounces towards him several times throughout the film? You may be right regarding the underlying theme, but Two Face was not the main subject of this.

No, Two-Face is not the main plot. Harvey's fall from grace INTO being Two-Face is the main plot.

Respected movie critics are praising it just as much as Batman fanboys, so I think you're off-base in your assumption that it's just Batman fans who are loving his performance.
Bardem smokes this performance. So does Ellen Page(twice), Day Lewis, Parmender Nagra(sp?), Rafaela Anderson, Philip Seymour Hoffman. I could go on, but I wont bore you.:haha: If we start going back to 1990's movies, I could start listing kids with better performances.
I would actually rank Ledger's minor role in Monster's Ball ahead of this role.
