The 90's Batman cartoon is awesome. It's one of the best adaptations of the character.
It's got a lot of snoozer episodes though. For being given essentially a carte blanche on what they could show, it's missing quite a bit. Character development only really happens with the A-list villains, a lot of stories involve simple thugs that are very forgettable. Kevin Conroy is a great Bruce-Batman voice though. Some classic episodes, and it's better than most cartoons, but there's a lot of fat to be trimmed in its run.
The Spidey cartoon from the 90s on the other hand, is pure gold. And they did it without the ability to have guns that shot bullets, without being able to say the word die, and without being able to show Spidey punching anybody.

Well I will agree that Spidey is awesome too. And that there's plenty of lame episodes of B:TAS. But when they got it right, they REALLY got it right. They created Harley Quinn. They created an awesome origin for Mr. Freeze. Both of those have been major contributions to the Batman mythos, so much so that the comics copied it. Plus Conroy was awesome and so was Hammill. And they understood the big villains. Two-Face and Riddler were done very well, as they always should have been treated (dark, serious). Spidey, X-Men, and Batman are my 3 favorite cartoons ever. Too bad they don't make 'em like they used to eh?

I didn't like Kirsten either...

I adore Bale's Batman and am excited as shit for The Dark Knight, but Keaton's Batman is legend. Don't forget that. They both play Batman so very differently, but really work best at making their prospective director's visions come alive on screen. Keaton would be unbelievable as Nolan's Batman, but he worked better in Burton's nightmarish, fairy tale landscape. Bale brings a weighty plausability to the role that fits Nolan's world perfectly.
So I'll be lining up sometime between 9 and 10 PM on Thursday for this one. Hope that's early enough. I can't believe the hype coming into this. I remember Batman Begins' midnight showings being half-full at best. Those were the days. It was as much a "cult" hit as a big budget superhero movie could be. A mid-$40 million opening. This one is like The Matrix Reloaded. The fanbase has grown so much more since people caught on to the sheer brilliance of Batman Begins after word-of-mouth and on DVD that the opening will be tremendous. I just hope it has the legs Batman Begins had. That was a rare summer-long hit.
Batman Begins opened on a Wednesday and already had $24 million in the bank before the weekend even started. So its legs are actually inflated compared to what they would be if it opened on a Friday. It would have made around $60-65 million if it opened on a Friday, giving it less impressive legs than people give it credit for. If TDK opens huge, then it is guaranteed to be a far bigger hit than Begins and that's all that matters. Legs won't be necessary.

Oldman was good on Late Night and the clip of Gordon, Dent, and Batman on the roof was interesting too, I think it was new.
It's not "new" per se, but it is the highest quality of it I've seen. They released 12 clips a week or two ago. Conan had it running in high def so that was cool to see it in great quality. The Internet release of those clips was in fairly low quality. That particular clip feels like something out of L.A. Confidential. If Batman wasn't there, you'd never guess it's a superhero movie during that scene.

Keaton to me was never believable. Val Kilmer shits all over him.
The growl was weird to me at first too, but then by the end of the movie it really fit i thought.
His Bruce is amazing imo. He really plays the billionaire playboy well, way better than any of the former actors ever had. Val Kilmer was great as Batman. To me, Keaton and Clooney were too unbelievable. Their take on Batman was just missing a lot.
I think Bale whispering instead of the growl wouldn't be as good.
Well the growl works incredibly well when he is dealing with a criminal and trying to make them shit their pants, but I don't think it works as well when he's talking to his allies like Gordon or Rachel. His best voice in Batman Begins is the part where Rachel is drugged and he is talking to her in the Batcave. There's not as much growl, but it is still very well disguised to the point that I don't think she could tell he was Bruce. I wish he would use that version of it more often, but I certainly respect the hell out of Bale and Nolan for at least TRYING to make this shit somewhat realistic. I mean for this crap to work, even in a fictional world, you have GOT to disguise the voice. Otherwise it makes the other characters look like fools when they can't tell who Batman is.

Walmart has Batman Begins for 7.98 so i bought it...i've never seen it before so it better be good

If you want to be surprised, try not listening to the leaks next time around. Then you've got no chance of ruining your "surprise factor". Some people, you just can't satisfy.
No, don't get me wrong. I am by no means disappointed with the leaks. I actually like them a lot more than some of the folks around here who have been whining that there's not enough hard stuff on CD. But at the moment, I've got bigger and better shit to worry about (The Dark Knight) so this GN'R thing is more amusing to me than anything else. The title of Shackler's Revenge sounds like it should be a badass song and if it's on a GH game then I'm sure there's some great guitar work on it.
