Tales from the Darkside./Crypt was good, although I didn't watch many  of them. What was the difference between Crypt/Darkside?? I didn't know there were 2.

Quite a bit!! lol  Tales from the Crypt featured the Crypt Keeper narrarating stories from the famous EC Comics.  Tales from the Darkside was more of a Twililght Zone type of series.

Definitely Twilight Zone and it should win by a light year. My second choice isn't even on this list....Friday the 13th: The Series.

Some of those Masters of Horror episodes are pretty damn good, the best being Miike's Imprint.

Tales from the Darkside had some amazing episodes, especially its first season.  Is that on DVD?

I vote for Twilight Zone as well.  The acting, writing and presentation are superb (albeit a bit dated sometimes) and the show is still today the best ever done in my opinion.

I had forgot about the Friday the 13th series and it WAS actually very good.  Wouldn't mind having those on dvd.  Not sure if Tales From the Darkside ever came out as an official set or not.

The Masters of Horror is really impressing me as of now.  If it were to stay at the same quality as these first two seasons and have a successful run (at least another six seasons) it could easily become my second all-time favorite TV Horror series.  I haven't gotto Mike's imprint yet, looking forward to it now.  Thanks for the heads up!

What about Ides of March, Cock-a-roach soup, Suckerpunched, No Love Remains,  Friend or Foe, Zip It, Something Always, Hearts Get Killed, Closing In On You, Strange Disease, Eulogy of a Broken Heart?  There's definitely tons of songs we haven't heard yet.

Just a simple poll to see what you guys think is the all-time best TV Horror Series.  I'm including "The Twilight Zone" because the Twilight Zone series often had horror-related themes.

What inspired this poll is my recent viewing of the Masters of Horror series.  Many recent horror movies outside of a select few (i.e. the Saw franchise) have really been hit and miss.  I love horror movies but hate crap movies, regardless of genre.  This led me to give the Masters of Horror series a try.  I have been very impressed with episodes like "Cigarette Burns", "Pelts", "Valerie on the Stairs" and "We all scream for ice"cream".  Great production and good writing make most of these 1-hr episodes better than most movies.

After watching this series I got my hands on some of the other ones like Tales From the Crypt and Tales From the Dark Side.  Although there are a few turds here and there in these series, for the most part the writing and production are very good and very enjoyable to watch.

What do you guys find to be the best all-time series?

Hard telling with Baz, he shoots off with the mouth without thinking.  Just odd the way he described Sorry and the "Sorry" we got.  Who knows?

#405 Re: Guns N' Roses » Bach says he is on Sorry.. Leak fake » 913 weeks ago

Maybe what he means by "fake" is that this is NOT the Sorry he is talking about.  He said earlier that "Sorry" was heavy, almost doom-metal. This song sure as shit doesn't fit that description.

good call james.. "switch opens" still gives me goose bumps...

and.. um...strat0...wolfmother?
i won't pass judgement.. but we may wanna give that a couple o' more years...

here's one i may catch some shit for:

Motley Crue-Motley Crue...

the one record without vince neil carved a nice little spot in my permanent playlist...
I think it never really got the credit it deserved for being the heaviest and most diverse(by far) motley record ever... it truly was a testament to their diversity..
There were dark moments..."uncle Jack"..."til death.."... and tender moments.."loveshine" "drift away"... and even a track that vince coulda sung and it woulda been able to hang with Dr feelgood... "poison apples".. it never got a fair shake because of the corabi thing, which is a shame, because he's such a versitile vocalist.. they coulda done ANYTHING after this record, and they caved to the reunion pressure...in all honesty, they shoulda never called it motley crue...oops.. kinda sounds familiar

As I said earlier I totally agree on the Motley Crue album.  The Quarternary sessions and unreleased songs from that Motley Crue album have some good tunes as well!

Good call on Motley Crue tyler!  That Crue album is musically superior to any other album they ever did.  I love Uncle Jack as well, I think Smoke the Sky and Misunderstood are excellent too.

My list:

Dirt OR Jar of Flies - Alice in Chains  (nothing sounded like either GREAT album)
Rust in Peace OR Youthanasia - Megadeth (intelligent and heavy also well produced)
Slave to the Grind - Skid Row (perfect rock album)
Metallica - Black Album (although a bit commercial a perfect album)
Nirvana - Nevermind (really popularized the grunge movement)
Soundgarden - Badmotorfinger (Soundgarden at their best)
Ozzy - No More Tears (after years in rock he manages his BEST album yet)
Pearl Jam - Ten (the next Mother Love Bone album that "could have been")
Live - Throwing Copper (R.E.M. on steroids)
Singles Soundtrack - (a time capsule to the music of the 90's)
The Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness (their shining moment)
NIN - The Downward Spiral (great writing, excellent production)
Pantera - Cowboys From Hell (a new level of heaviness)

#409 Re: Guns N' Roses » On the Eve of Democracy, Where's Axl? » 913 weeks ago

Axl is quiet awaiting the success (or lack of) Chinese Democracy to help him decide what he will do in the future.  That's my opinion.  If it does well he MAY bring together some of those other rumoured tracks, perhaps throw a couple more in the mix and put out another album soon.  If it tanks we may here Slash and Axl together in the relatively near future.
