Some of the lead character names have been officially revealed by Lucas-film in a clever retro way!! JJ is such a fan boy...I love it.

I think its great. Well, its only a trailer but hopefully the movie lives up to it. I think it will. Not sure I really want Lucas too hands on tbh, SW needs new life & the original was nearly 40 years ago. Not sure Lucas really has it anymore plus I'm sure at his age he'd be drained during a behemoth of a project like this. He'll do the right thing if he found the right director (JJ) and just gave it over to him with free reign. Little input, criticism or hands on, just step away & monitor it periodically, but it looks fine.
Same here. I'm just ignoring b.s. rumors from people that claim to have to insight on the story without backing it up. Just focusing on new trailers, movie posters when they come out. I'm excited and optimistic about this.

George has to approve EVERYTHING so he's still involved. But like the first trilogy it'll come from different voices. I thought the light saber was pretty cool. Rumor is the Emperor is going to bye in is as a sith ghost, like Obi Wan was a Jedi ghost.
George Lucas is the creator of Star Wars and he is still a creative consultant on the films as well as TV shows like Rebels that's on Disney XD. So he basically does have a say on what works canon wise and basically they can't just have the writers do random bullshit if it contradicts to their original character tropes or how this device works in the established Star Wars universe...or basically the Force can't just do that. As for writing scripts and choosing actors, that isn't his call...and thank God for that. He's basically semi-retired now.

I mean it was better than the Season 3 mid break and season finales as well as most of what Season 2 was. Glad they went back into Morgan's journey and him eventually being put back into the fold and probably joining the group. Looks like the guys will be heading towards DC when it returns and probably hit some more losses.

That broad sword inspired light Saber is pretty fucking cool. I dunno if it's just me but that teaser felt more like Star Wars than the last 3 movies.
That is true! Even though I liked Episodes 1 & 3. Not 2: Attack of the Clones (which was a stupid title and heavily flawed movie in general.) The prequels have their problems, I won't deny that. Lucas works better as a visionary when he collaborates with other writers, directors, and producers that makes his concepts better and stronger. There have been people bitching about the light saber design while others love it. I do love it and like the internet it has a very medieval sword quality to the design. I have a feeling that's Adam Driver as the Sith with Serkis as the voice over in the teaser. Could be completely different actors when the movie comes out though. This does feel like a return to form and true blue SW film. It makes sense because JJ is such a big Star Wars fan-boy and always used those influences in his Trek films and other projects. This is like a dream for him to make this movie please fans of the originals; but bring it back into the right light. I hope we get an official synopsis and a poster before the end of the year or early next year in the coming months.

Highly agree. The teaser trailer was kick ass!!! Loved every moment. Would of preferred to see a little of Hamill with the beard at the end; but I guess they have plans to release that kind of stuff later which is fine. It sets up the right tone and I believe from sources that the voice over is indeed, Andy Serkis's character. Whom he is supposed to have a prominent role in the movie.

Definitely have my reservations about this proposed movie, the idea just sounds cringeworthy even if Axl does license the music. If I want to watch Guns '85-89 I'll stick on a bootleg video from the Roxy or the Troub, not a movie with actors pretending to be the band lol.
The book was cool, but a movie just sounds like a horrendous idea. A documentary with real unreleased video/audio would be much more interesting imo.
Yeah the latter idea you mentioned sounds interesting just without Canter or anyone with an agenda's involvement. In order to get this movie right, they have to go all out on everybody, no sympathies, and no painting anyone as a saint or just one guy as the bad guy. Which judging from the source material looks like that won't happen. I do remember "Axlin"'s concept of a younger Tom Cruise portraying Axl and just going batshit with the performance. I would pay money to see that.

It's interesting seeing him do Walking Dead. That Key and Peele sketch he was a part of was brilliant awhile ago. I don't think he's going to be a recurring character though. Seems like the mid season break we will probably lose supporting and maybe a lead character. They need to add more steaks and prove like the commercials, "They are not safe!"
#419 Re: Guns N' Roses » Ultimate Classic Rock Hall of Fame SemiFinal - Vote For GNR » 564 weeks ago
I mean I like some of Bon Jovi's music; but GNR is the better band in any incarnation in terms of album quality, song writing, and musicianship.

Not gonna happen. Canter is a prick! The Dirt movie is in development though. Vince and Nikki I think were talking about it a couple months ago. They want to make it a hard "R" that's for sure. I think why it's not being all that worked on at the moment is they haven't found a director who isn't busy to do this and to find a lead that isn't too well known to play one of the band members. There is even going to be a KISS doc/bio pic in the future; but that's going to be scrapped cause it will just be the Gene Simmons show with no say from the rest of the original members.
