Twitter drama:
Bumblefoot stopped following both Axl and Guns N' Roses accounts and it generated some controversy.

Also, both Guns N' Roses and Del James posted the same pic of Del, on the pit of a UYI concert. Thing is that Slash is on the picture. Del post was mentioning Slash directly while GNR was with the "Do You See Who I See?".

Found it quite amusing to see GNR and Del tweeting amicable towards Slash.

I don't know if it is relevant or not, but Del James came to twitter to make a shout out to band members and quoted all of them but Bumblefoot.. Also follows all of them but Bumble...

If it was to have any new songs, specially by A$hba, we'd be reading about it on his social media..

The only song which lyrics are poor for me is If the World.

Sorry has great, genius moments ("The truth is the truth hurts, don’t you agree? It’s harder to live with the truth about you than to live with the lies about me") with some bad, really bad moments ("You close your eyes All well an’ good I’ll kick you ass Like I said that I would") cringeworthy, to the best Get In the ring fashion...

To me, Street of Dreams, Madagascar, Better and Prostitute are outstanding poetry wise.

I've always thought the title "Chinese Democracy" was self-ironic... It's basically the current state of the "band"... A band (supposedly a democracy per definition) under a totalitarian regime (Axl as enforcer, the Chinese part).

Random thought just occurred to me after your "stripped down" comment, Otto. Axl is often times accused of doing these tours and festivals as cash grabs. I agree with that to some extent. But if Axl was really looking for a cash grab, what is he doing having 8 band members on the payroll? What's with all the pyro?

Personally, I'd love a stripped down tour and actually think it would go a long way to re-establishing the band. It's hard to build familiarity with these band members for casual fans because there are just too many members to keep track of.

The stripped down comment also relates to production values (as it'd be  up for the festival light/rig, meaning less costs), set list (not 2,5 to 3 hours) and lineup.

Think a different beast from what we're used to since 2001. Would love it to be like Dust N Bones tho smile

Tom Petty just released an album and every ticket sold equals a CD.

If Axl had done this with Chinese Democracy, given all the tours, it'd have shipped around 3 to 4 million copies since 2009.

Anyway, regarding all this reunion rumors:
- In case of a reunion for 2015, expect Chinese left overs released as Axl solo record. Don't get surprised by Ashba + Slash.
- In case of no reunion, festival tours in 2015, no release, stripped down version of the band.

Guitar wise it is an improvement over the solo cd and Apocalyptic Love. But it is not there for me songwriting wise.
Some of the solos and intros sound dated to me.. I mean, come on, how many songs with guitar and open hi hats at the beginning can you have? big_smile

To me it sounds, in a nutshell as:
an improvement on guitars (even if sometimes he sounds like trying to 'prove' he can shred)
stale food-y songwriting.
