I agree that having one of them back in the band would be good provided I get to choose which one.  bucket

I agree, I want a god damn fucking toy though or for him to throw his blue apron into the audience but, before he does that he does the moon walk and twirl it in the air.

I miss the crab dance by Robin.

I don't mean to start an argument about this, but why I like Robin and Bucket is they gave something creative to the band versus the other new joes.

Anyhow, anyone miss the black military helmet and white spacesque suits or is the lion from the Wizard of Oz look the coolest of la Finck?

As far as the CDII release I just really don't care unless it is dominated by the CD era guitarists from 1999-2008 (Buckethead / Finck).

From my negative point of view...

The only tour footage Ive seen are the Rose Bar videos, they were pretty cool and the band seemed tight, but I have no interest in the current lineup bar Axl and Tommy. The revolving door lineup just doesn't appeal to me and I wont waste time bothering with updates from guys who could be gone tomorrow.

I rarely post due to my negative attitude towards the band, however, whilst not all of the frequent updates appeal to me, I consider them all to be a huge step in the right direction in re-building bridges with the fanbase.

If the band lineup and updates both remain consistent I'm sure I'll attend a UK arena show with a positive attitude smile

It really sucked after Buckethead left, but, I thought at least Robin is still in the band. That guy has been there forever and was there when Matt / Duff were around still. Of course he left in 1999 briefly.

Once Robin left it pretty much sealed the bands fate in my mind. I got to see them in 2002 and 2006. Good concerts, especially the last night with Izzy in NYC.

I have diversified my music portfolio and I am into plain and simple superior bands like MGMT.

It shouldn't be impossible for a band to release music and to keep its members that contributed a lot to its creative process.

I just feel that having DJ Ashba sort of relegates the band to Motley Crue crappy status. I believe Robin is way more talented than this guy. Even though he is  a fine guitar player.

And for the record I don't want to see a reunion as it would be just about the money and not about the music.

My apologies about the U2 as well.

Anyways, I am getting more tempted to go to a show. However, Copps Coliseum sucks compared to the ACC I find.

Not to go all U2 fan boy on you guys but $100 for a GN'R show right now is a fucking ripoff. They're stage production and show doesn't warrent that. U2's current tour is averageing $100 per ticket with floor seats going for $55-$75  and nosebleeds going for $35.  This isn't a slag on Gn'R this is a slag on all bands.  There's no way a Gn'R ticket in 2009 should cost as much or more than a U2 ticket simply based on stage production. I find it strange.

Isn't blackberry funding the tour or did they help pay for the stage?

I have been following that tour and I have not been impressed with the setlist at all. They haven't even done White As Snow yet.  I really wish they would perform Native Son instead of Vertigo, god that song sucks, but, that is wishful thinking here. Anyways back on topic.

So they are charging 100 dollars for tickets. I believe I paid eighty dollars or maybe sixty dollars in 2002.

I'm not sure what Blackberry's involvment actually is. I'm guessing they helped fund the cost to build the stages cause I know that after Europe U2 themselves hadn't broke even yet so.......

It's easy to complain about the setlist for a band like U2. They're NEVER gonna be able to please everyone. They've brought back songs like The Unforgettable Fire, UltraViolet and have started playing Your Blue Room which had never been performed untill this tour. They play five songs off the new album and have completely revamped I'll Go Crazy to make it the highlight of the night almost evey single night. That takes guts to take the current single and play it ina  manner that's almost completely unrecognizeable.  They can't play the entire new album either so the super slow White as Snow gets left out. U2's setlist might not impress you but for  a band who's technical production is that elaborate they manage to switch the set up every night, switching out songs and the order not to mention even the videos that acompany each song. Plus they're doing songs from War, UF, Joshua Tree, Rattle and Hum, Achtung Baby, ATYCLB, HTDAAB and NLOTH.   They play 5 songs off the new  album and have consitently started shows with 3 or sometimes four new songs in a row. They don't hide behind the past.  As for Vertigo, that IS Native Son with different lyrics. Vertigo rocks in concert regardless of the lyrics.

Hopefully for Gn'R fans attending these shows they follow U2's lead. It'd be great for fans if they did more Illusions and more CD songs but the sad thing is there's a REALLY GOOD CHANCE ol' Axl just gives you guys the same song and dance we saw in 2002 and 2006.

I know that it is Vertigo, I implied that the Native Son lyrics are far superior and aren't ridiculous.

I believe it was July 02, 2009 at Barcelona, Spain that U2 played Electrical Storm for the first time.

Anyways, I rather have more setlists with songs not performed in full live yet played, like The Hands That Built America, I know they have done snippets of it. Would like to see When I Look At The World performed and Wild Honey played by the full band. Yes, I love Ultraviolet (Light My Way) being dust off.

U2's streaming of their Rose Bowl concert this Sunday on YouTube is such a great idea, too bad some bands don't like that form of communication / medium to use, not naming names here wink wink

Back on topic...

Does anyone think Axl will do the jersey look again?

Or perhaps just hockey jerseys?

What about hair? Does anyone think he will get rid of the Predator Braid look?

All superficial matters and stuff I don't care about, I just thought I would add those elements, since I can't really continue my Robin Finck bitchfest.

I 2002 was heavier in the AFD songs and 2006 didn't have Think About You in the set list. I don't know about the Toronto show as I didn't go in 06.

Did you kids get TWAT or was that pretty much the NYC shows?

Tragically I think I am boycotting the tour, unless I am presented with two free tickets. I just can't wrap my head around losing a lead guitarist who was in the band for 10 years (do we count 1998 for Robin) almost if not longer than Slash, if we are counting 1987-1995.

Nothing against Bumblefoot, cool guy, but, losing Buckethead saddened me. I don't think DJ Ashba can fill Finck's shoes creatively.

I am not trying to turn this into a hate mongering speech, I just am saying I would like to support the band, if they have the rightful lead guitarist in the lineup. Last time I checked he isn't touring with Nine Inch Nails anymore. And he did re-join the band before, where is the harm in giving him a ring and if he accepts firing Ashba?

Hopefully, the tour is a success and you guys get to hear the whole album live.

Sorry and Prostitute would seem epic to hear, as well as the Meat Loaf inspired This I Love.
