If the first 2 votes counted in Cali happen to be Nader votes, I want them to call it just like they did Maine.
Lofton just wants marijuana legalized!!!
I love the screenshot you got man, that is hilarious...and a bit scary!

They said Obama won 91% of the black vote in PA. Although, in the interest of full disclosure John Kerry won 88% of the black vote. So it isn't really that they voted for him because he is black. It probably has more to do with Republicans not having much of a platform that appeals to blacks and not ever giving them much reason to vote Republican.
plus, think about how many people vote against obama because he is black.
I'm sure it has happened (sadly) but I can safely say to a much lesser degree based on the polls and the fact that if white people were voting color-based there wouldn't be an election.

I hope you are correct PaSnow. I did not vote against Obama because of color and I would like to think in 2008 color would NOT be a real issue by most people. In fact a few months ago I was pro-Obama. Then he started revealing his plans, killed that.
At any rate all we can do is hope for the best. Scary that he will have full house and senate support however. I understand completely the desire for change just not the "hail-mary" attitude thrown blindly in the air. No need staying up for this one, the media has won.
Take care guys and let's just all hope for the best.

I was amazed at them calling PA so fast (as Flagg pointed out) when McCain is winning VA by a larger margin and its "too close to call". People are really idiotic. It's also very sad and disturbing to see that 96% of Blacks in South Carolina and 97% of Blacks in North Carolina are voting for Obama...gee, I wonder if this is "race based?" Be ready to pay even more taxes out so others who would rather not work can take it easy, Obama's their boy. Once again let me make the disclaimer that I in NO WAY have a problem with my taxes going to the disabled (if legitimately disabled), needy children, elderly people, people who work but can't make ends meet, but if you don't think a large sector of the population just sucks off the rest of hard working Americans (because they can) then you have a great deal of real life to be exposed to. Their boy Obama will make it much clearer for you.

Done with this.

Nice post Randall, problem is, it's really a radical neo-Con opinion, not rooted in any kind of realism.
I'll be voting for Obama tomorrow, and not be scared doing it.
If anything happens to this great country, we call the U.S.A. If we go socialist, we go marxist, we basically become the U.S.S.A.
Blame can be placed at the doorstep of one group of people - corporate America. They've stolen from the poor for years to make themselves richer (they earned, that's a fuckin' laugh), and elitist Republicans who continue to spew absolute nonsense about "trickle down economics" are Reagan Republicans who are a dying breed, that don't quite understand they're over. The Republicans are NOT responsible for this, BUT because they hitched their wagon to the "free market" drum a long time ago, they will be dragged down and drowned with the banks.
Now you might be able to convince me, how i'm wrong. I'm willing to listen. But the average American isn't. They look at gas, they look at milk, they look at their retirement in danger, and they blame one thing - an un-supervised free market. Out of control capitalism is the reason I can't afford my next payment n' such.
Now I could find a few things wrong with that statement. But that's how they see it. Tomorrow, Obama is going to be elected the next president of the United States, and the reason that's going to happen is people are tired and fed up. Is Obama the answer? I don't know. But Americans blindly accepting this socialization with "open arms" is not their fault. It's not the government's fault. It's wall street's fault. Period. That's how they see it, that's how they are going to see it, because they don't know the in's and out's of it all. They just know what they see, and most aren't going to want to look further into it, because it might mean they have to get off their fat ass and do something about it. No, we couldn't have that happen, could we?
To have the attitude you have to out of work peoples, is amazingly ignorant. Unemployment only registers those who are... on unemployment. There's countless people I know who are unemployed, can't get work, not registered with the unemployment office, and haven't filed a tax return in years. Do they count? Or are they just tax-beating bums that need to get a job? (just to let you know, if you don't make anything, you don't have to file)
The numbers you see are only the numbers they want you to see.
But regardless, at this point, i'm like alot of Americans. I don't give a fuck anymore. Let's go socialist. Let's go communist. 1984, blah blah blah, i've heard it over and over.
Capitalism is a roting, maggot-riddled corpse.
This post is scary. If this is your TRUE sentiment and you have the arrogance to call someone else "ignorant" then you are a sad case. "I don't give a fuck anymore"...then why are you here? Another vote for Obama and such a worthy one at that.

Good argument Flagg. I do have reservations with the Patriot Act but my biggest problem is that once we get someone in office with the mindset of Obama, with good 'Ol Papa Ted and the house and senate both in his pocket, there won't be a BETTER proposal simply a disposal of this idea with no reasonable alternative. The arguments you make are sound and I happen to agree but it worries me more that we get people believing that we can run out of Iraq, forget about security and cut all the military spending possible yet come out ok. As you know it is insane reasoning.
I totally agree with the rest of your points made Flagg. Amazing how something so simple is so hard for some to see.

That's it buzzsaw. I'm PERFECTLYok with helping the (truly) disabled, ederly, childeren, or those working who need help making ends meet but NOT handouts for the lazy. When I lived in D.C. there was a huge block of high rise government apartments where 90% of the people who lived there did not work. Not disabled but did not work. Some CLAIMED to be disabled and got "the check" but were able to party, play sports, etc. If we quit wasting all this money for handouts for these type of people and limited other frivilous government spending we could easily balance the budget and pay down the debt.
As far as the Patriot Act it is DUMB to do away with something that protects YOU!! I am not a pro-Bush guy, he didn't do a good job...bottom line, and YES a change IS needed but McCain is NOT Bush and just because Obama is younger and a democrat does not mean the change will be a good one. I don't want the war any more than the next guy and NOONE wants the money being thrown down the drain any longer but the fact is WE ARE IN WAR and we must end it the right way, not tucking our tail and running. It's a winnable war if Americans and the media would support a proper exit instead of instant fulfillment. I don't like taxes either but we have to have them in order to run the country, wishing them away won't change that and pretending we can just leave Iraq immediately is the same logic. Your votes are very important this time around, don't let the media choose for you. Take time to make the right choice, whatever you think it may be but use your mind...not your hearts.

See I don't see anything wrong with the "our president" mindset. What's wrong with that? Black culture is totally different from white culture, and what's important to the black community, alot of the time is entirely different from the white community, and NOT in a racist way. They just have different priorities. All presidents that have come before have been white. Black voters for years have been voting for "the lesser of two evils", because maybe BOTH candidates didn't represent them the way they thought they should.
Obama is the first guy they believe will see things from their side of the fence.
There's not going to be a race war. This isn't racist.
They believe that Obama will understand what goes on in the black community and what is important to that community, and he might tackle some issues, no other president before him has even thought about. There's nothing wrong with that.
Obama himself said. When those Black Panther wannabes showed up at his rally and challenged him on "what he'd do for the black community". Obama said he would unify all Americans, all races, and if the black community didn't feel he represented them properly, they could feel free to go out and vote him out in four years, or run themselves for office.
That's what the guy said. That was one of Obama's finest moments imo.
"Our president" is bullshit...sorry, end of story. It's the same mindset why it's ok to have Black Miss America, Affirmative Action, Black History month, etc etc. No offense to you whatsoever as this is your opinion but it is ridiculous that ONLY the black segment of America deserves special treatment. There ARE other minorities in this country believe it or not. This brainwashing has been sold for a long time in this country and it looks like it has been bought. Just like racial slurs are in one category but the "N Word" () is blasphemy above all the rest. Equality is equality, not special favors or segments of the population who need "our president" exclusively for their group. Hate to break it to you but we are all "something-Americans" just like African-Americans. We have a melting pot in the U.S. and the need for segregation whether imposed or (in this case) desired through things like "our", "us", etc is long gone...except when it becomes an advantage to someone to ride it for all it is worth as long as someone else is dumb enough to provide it.
Just my opinion and no ill toward you nor anyone else is meant. I feel strongly about the double standards we give the black community however. Just for the record my best friend is black and my girlfriend mixed so by NO means is this a racial point of view. Both the aforementioned actually agree with the points I have just pointed out.
Funny how a noose from a tree (which I DISAGREE with by the way) is a crime to be heard about for months, but doing a mock hanging of a vice presidential running mate is all in good fun. What do you think would have happened if the dummy had been black and/or was implied to be Obama? Hmmmm....
Finally I actually like Obama as a person, just not a president. While there are things I disagree with when it comes to McCain as well it is Obama's ideas of "wealth redistribution" (a.k.a. "handouts"), lack of experience, foolish ideas (such as ending the Patriot Act) and the idea of him having the majority in both the House and Senate as well that bothers me. Too many eggs in one basket that has not been tested and has no track record to really warrant this sort of promotion. Most definitely it is NOT due to his race. The sad part is if the election were to be close and he DOES NOT win (not gonna happen of course, just making a point) all hell would break loose. It shouldn't be this way in a country where everyone is striving for equality. Coming together means becoming color blind and not trying to segregate groups more than they already are. "Our president" shouldn't be a term identified with color, as long as it is we have made little progress in ending racism outside of reversing the polarity.
Peace...out!
