The Rebel title makes me think of Civil War and that rebel jacket Axl used to wear.
Axl has been in such a strong position artistically. He’s sitting there with Hardschool and Oklahoma, Atlas and Perhaps, Elvis, Rebel, State of Grace - the hard rock of the first two must be good Slash territory.
Where is The General, is Hardschool Jackie Chan?
Having Bucket stuff like Quick Song and Zodiac, Axl could give them a work over and have another dimension. The alien technology is there. Ancient and futuristic.

Ballad of Death and his Better remix were great and he had charisma and stage presence that line up needed. Not the OG line up or the maverick geniuses that made CD but as a touring band Dj improved the show either if you were a casual fan or wanted GNR more hair than freaks. As uncool as Ron was, Dj balanced that out. Dj’s Patience solo was mind blowing. Axl and Dj had chemistry. I hope those 12 DJ demos leak. Baz said once that there was a Axl Dj song and he’d heard it. Fortus said he had worked with Dj on material. There could be something out there. Atlas Shrugged though, c’mon.

I see what Axl was saying about pushing the envelope too far. That must have been scary for the rec comp. To have Bucket really give Axl a future ahead that could destroy the cash cow. Maybe it was interesting to Axl but it wasn’t his mission with GNR. But Oklahoma and Hardschool, c’mon that’s an awesome butt kicking time.

I remember listening to the Prostitute instrumental and it’s crazy how much Axl’s vocals changes things. Same with Shackler’s. It happens on Hardschool too. Axl ramps up the intensity as the tracks progress and creates an arch to the songs.

I’ve always wanted The Cutting Room Floor Bucket Tapes. This is like the Best of Bucket in the Coop.
I guess the CD anthology won’t happen because CD is not corporate media friendly.
I expected CD to be a sprawling trilogy of excess. Get Bucket in there and do 10 minute epics. But Axl delivered an Event album worthy of the name. But I could handle something much messier.

He had enough material for a balls to the wall album...no ballads.
I think some would tidy up nicely enough. It’s a shame the rec comp couldn’t get into a multiple release thing. But I guess Bucket was needed. They coulda done a Zooropa.

Oklahoma could be a monster. Could imagine Slash and Duff working on it.
It has that Eye of the Tiger element I dreamed of.

They seem more riff heavy but also like drum and bass. Chemical Brothers comes to mind.

Definitely s good spread of material?
Nice one two punch of Oklahoma and Hardschool. State of Grace a nice track 3 option.

Oklahoma worth the hype. Sounds more "gnr" in spots to me than any other previous thing we have heard. It's just begging for an Axl Rose vocal.
Maybe why it didn’t go on CD. They seemed to work to make The Blues or Catcher sound or fit with the whole Alt metal sound. You can hear the dynamics of GNR but the sound shades it.
