#471 Re: Guns N' Roses » Del James Interview » 921 weeks ago

We the fans can only make our judgements based on other people's accounts of what happened because we were not there.  I'm an Axl fan, I'm a Slash fan...I'm a G'n F'n R's fan.  That means I listen to all sides but the truth most likely lies somewhere in the middle.  I have no problem with Del and like James mentioned I loved reading his articles when I was younger but his accounts of what happened do seem to be very biased.  That doesn't make him bad but doesn't make the story any more believable or closed to scrutiny from long time fans.

I'm not completely shutting the door on a release until late October. No release date then, its not coming out this year.

I think this opinion is very accurate.  Next month (maybe as late as mid-November) or not this year.

Prom Night, it was decent.  I liked it better than the original.

I'm not very impressed with SR, although it is better than some of the other leaks.  I still prefer the 06 batch of leaks to anything we have heard since.

#475 Re: The Sunset Strip » ALICE IN CHAINS HEADING BACK TO THE STUDIO » 922 weeks ago

Bad move in my opinion.  Layne (as C.C. correctly stated already) was the heart and soul of the group.  Isn't the same, can't be the same, won't be the same.  I'll listen but it will be a new Cantrell solo to me with a guest singer...nothing more.

The debates are THE key in this election.

Absolutely true.  We are all sick of Bush-era life but jumping to Obama just for that reason is a bad idea.  Obama is easy to like but in the end putting him in the driver's seat could be a far worse situation than even the past two terms of Bush.  May sound hard to believe but it is true.  McCain isn't a perfect candidate but he is NOT Bush, that is all garbage. Most importantly the truth is that McCain is the better of the two candidates we have to choose from and in the end that is all that should really matter.  I'll take experience and a history of good choices over a good personality and voting for the opposite party just for the sake of doing so any day of the week.

The debates will either prove/disprove these opinions and unless Obama has taken a crash course in experience and sound ideology then the debates are very unlikely to be an asset for him.

90210 was a great show for me "back in the day" but I can't imagine this "mid-life crisis update" working for me!

Von ... you watch Degrassi????

Just kidding man, I don't even know wtf Degrassi is.

Most fans don't want an "Us against Them" attitude. We love Axl and the new Guns. We want to hear the music. Love the music. See them succeed, and enjoy the fruits of their labor. A beautiful marriage of fans & the band they love. Like music should be.

Good post.

I get mad at the shit we have all went through waiting on this album but at the end of the day it's not MY work and labor to put this thing together.  I'm sure there's alot more that has went/still going on than we could even imagine.

he dared riaa, universal, gnr and the fbi to do something about it...well what could they do?

Well put Neemo, that's the situation in a nutshell.

#479 Re: Guns N' Roses » Guns N' Roses leaker wants your help » 923 weeks ago

It's a sad situation for him but it was simply DUMB!  I have posted well over a hundred links to GNR demos in my thread but NONE of them are official because I know better.  We may not like the rules but at the end of the day the leaks and official released material is Axl and the band's copyrighted work...not ours.  I was glad to hear the music but I will never start some "look at me" thread and start posting leaks.  Stupid actions like that will ALWAYS get you in deep shit.

#480 Re: The Sunset Strip » Biggest Horror Icon » 923 weeks ago

Jason's winning but I'm not sure that it is as an "easy" of choice as some may say.  Halloween is the most successful of the franchises, in terms of merchandising, box office success, and (albeit marginally for now) longivity.  All your arguments are good ones but I can tell you right now that there are NO N.O.E.S. nor Friday the 13th dedicated websites anywhere near number or size as the Halloween franchise has.  My point being that yeah Jason was a 80's cult icon but Michael has did that in the 90's and the new millenium as well.  I fell the other "big two" have lost alot of that whereas (even at the series lowest points) Michael's popularity remained.  Go to ebay and type in Jason, Freddy...then Michael.  There's a huge difference.

Not an argument (I love to hear everyone's opinion), just a personal observation and opinion.
