Ha. Maybe I'm the only one who digs Joe's singing. That said, a lot of my favorite Stones songs are ones Keef sings, so it's not huge dymamics I look for in my singers.
It's not a dynamic thing for me either. My favorite singer - Liam Gallagher - only knows 2 notes. He's good on back back train and songs like that which stay low and suit his voice, but when he tries to go high it's not a a pleasing experience in my opinion.

The best riff on the album has joe perry straining his voice all over it. Pure ego. You can't sing man, shut the fuck up and let your singer (one of the all time greats) sing!
I wanted an album of dirty blues like the original number they had on "honkin":

There's good moments on this album no doubt. But my god they are few and far between.
Not half enough bluesy grime on this album. Not half enough bluesy grime by half.
I'm gonna delete all the love songs like somebody proposed. Just fucking delete them and hold onto the good shit, pretend that I live in an alternative reality where that's the album.

monkeychow wrote:Good God I never thought of that (remaking the originals)
Blowing my mind to even imagine it.I know right and the scary part is you know it'd be a huge success money wise. People would flock to see it. Sad thing is it would ruin the originals for all future generations. It would be like remaking the Wizard of Oz. It would totally ruin the charm and appeal of the original because why would kids wanna watch a movie that's 30+ years old when they can watch a modern version with all the modern special effects. I personally think the originals look better than the prequels but I know a LOT of younger people who think the old ones look cheap compared to episodes 1-3. that blows my mind. Episodes 1-3 look like a video games. Episodes 4-6 look real to me. maybe cause the props were actually real
I don't know. I just thought of it and thought "Oh shit what if...."
Hmm interesting theory. No way Lucas made that a possibility however.
Contrary to popular belief, the man isn't in it for the money. He gives his money away for the most part. He was in it to make good Star Wars movies. No way he'd all for the possibility of a reboot.

TWAT is the most overrated song ever by Gn'R fans and the solo is the most overrated solo by any group of fans ever as well.
Everybody is entitled to their own opinion and by that same standard everyone is entitled to dismiss the opinion of any U2 fan out of hand.

Does anyone have a feeing that this will be it from the guys or that this run will last?
My impression of Chris is that he likes being solo. Will he simply use this as a vehicle to (yet again) try to get more people to like & buy his solo albums?
That would be like the Verve all over again.
The Verve were a huge alternative band in Britain. After their late 90's breakup their singer went on to medium success with his solo career. He later reunites with his the band to put out the strongest record in their catalogue, a record of deep cuts meant for the die hard fans. They do some headline sellout shows at a large summer festival, Galstonbury, the British lolapoloza garner rave reviews, they drop the album the press blows up about how great it is, and then the singer leaves to do more solo stuff. When you think about it, Cornell had his hip-hop inspired album with Timbaland just before the Soundgarden reunion where Ashcroft has his hip hop type album with Kanye West's producer No ID, just after the Verve split the second time. During the splits, the guitarist, who is one of the best guitarists of the alternative genre in Britan, fucks off into obscurity doing random bits and pieces on strange and out there albums.
I hope to the sweet baby Jesus Christofferson that you are wrong sir.

I'm sure everyone who wants the album has already acquired it, but I wanted to mention that Amazon tweeted that King Animal is only $3.99 all week.
That is one hell of a deal there. $4 for what has fast become a desert island album for me.
Rowing live in london:

Just saw that Taree was written by Ben BEFORE the breakup.... That makes a lot of sense.

For me this album is all about eyelids mouth, rowing and non-state actor. This is excellent stuff.
#490 Re: The Garden » Police Allowed To Install Cameras On Private Property Without Warrant » 705 weeks ago
Yes, let's throw away a constitutional amendment protecting citizens from random search and seizures on their private property because we need to catch those dangerous pot growing criminals.
Why not just put a camera on everybodys property? You got nothing to hide right, so you wouldn't mind?
What's so important about the constitution? Why do we give it such importance? Surely not having a crack house next door is more important than some criminals right to privacy?
It's seriously outdated.
Those rights and laws exist to protect everyone. Even those breaking the law.
I'd much rather have my privacy than bust crack houses.
They're supposed to but do they? No.
What if the crack house was next door to your house?
