A few people who sound like they're on the scene are saying they've been told that no cell phones are allowed tonight. I'm not all that desperate to see grainy footage of songs being played, though I'd obviously take it. But some firsthand accounts would be nice. Who's there? Did they play anything unexpected? How amazing was it? Those sorts of things.
Biggest questions of all and really the only thing that matters IMHO:
1. Izzy/Steven?
2. Raspy voice?
If the answer is YES to both of those, then it would make for an awesome Blu-ray.

Someone on GN'R Truth said KTLA mentioned a major music announcement expected around 10 AM Pacific. Maybe they will have a camera there. Here is the live stream:

This needs to be live streamed on the official website.
For the press conference? Maybe. I figure someone in the media will at least record the announcement and post it on YouTube.
There are rumors going around that the Troubadour gig will have a ban on cell phones and other recording devices. Given that it only holds 500 people, they should be able to keep a very tight lid on it. So you Vegas people are not getting spoiled with leaked footage.

AIC on the other hand, is a fantastic choice.
Will never happen, but I'd love to see a GnR/Metallica tour again.
Not familiar with The Cult? Surprising. Good hard rock band. Ian Astbury has an amazing voice. Try these two songs and see if they seem familiar.

Vegas is still the first real show. Vegas will have all the pyro, the complete stage show, a full set list, real fans, etc. I'm jealous, SG. You're there.
Except GN'R was at its very best when they were a club band instead of arena/stadium band. It's possible this first gig (if it even happens) will have some kinks that need to be worked out in terms of chemistry between the guys on stage. If that's the case, the Vegas audience will benefit.

In my opinion, they are doing The Cult a favor to say "thank you" for The Cult giving GN'R the opener spot back in the day before GN'R turned into a massively popular band.

I generally agree with SG. The big reason a lot of us paid the premium to be there on the 8th was to say we were there for the first. I am frustrated by it.
If you didn't invest in the opportunity to see this then frankly I don't think you can understand the frustration. Now a thousand people that just so happen to be lucky get that experience over something people like SG and I have literally paid for is completely annoying.
Having said that I will have a great time.
It won't be 1,000 people. Troubadour holds 500. My guess is about 400 of that 500 will be invitations to celebrities and friends. So you're talking 100 lucky people who might have a chance to buy a ticket without any strong connection to the band or any celebrity status to get them in the door. 100 people out of 7 billion people on the planet. Your odds of getting that ticket are slim to none.
But I also said above this secret show rumor could all be bullshit and maybe it is. Just have to see how it plays out. Maybe your Vegas show will be the first show after all.
