The best tracks off City if Evil are Beast & the Harlot, Bat Country and Seize The Day, which I think were the singles that were released anyway. I can kinda hear GN'R influence, but it's not that obvious. I think it's more to do with their epic kinda vision in some songs. I mean, they could be a pretty straight up metal band, but they add some strange twists in their songs, which sounds like something UYI-CD era GN'R would do.

Their self titled album has like 5 killer songs in a row, followed by some other fairly solid tunes, but the last two tracks take a left turn. A Little Piece Of Heaven sounds like a polka tune in parts! And the last track Dear God is Ax7 doing country.

I got a copy of a DVD of theirs Live at the LBC which was taken from the tour before the new album came out, and that's kinda what has gotten me really into them over the last few weeks. I strongly urge you to check it out Monkey! I could make a copy for you if you like?

Did you get the CD of b-sides that comes with the DVD?  Some of their best are on there, this is one of my faves

Agreed. Why not pull the finger out and release some form of box set. Do a 2002 show, 2006 show, 2010 show and an acoustic show and put it all togheter in a set.

Because there's no incentive to do it. Only a thousand nerds would give two shits about the revolving door, and less than half of them would even bother buying it. Releasing something like that would be a colossal failure. He really only has two legitimate options regarding a box set....

Unload the Chinese vault

an assortment of old GNR shows(Ritz, riot, etc.)

Osaka 2002 isn't gonna cut the mustard...

In this era they really have nothing to lose by releasing it on iTunes or something.

If Metallica and GNR had a love child this band would be it.

That's a bold statement.

Not really a bold statement because I made no judgment call on if that's good or bad.

I don't think it's a good thing all the time in fact.  Because some of their stuff sounds like they are just trying to be either Metallica or GNR.  Listen to Buried Alive.  It sounds like a lesser Metallica song.

Buried Alive is one of the best songs off the new album.  I get an old school vibe from it but I don't get that their trying to be Metallica.

Oh yeah? Slash was "considering" Axl Rose for his solo album? Ok. In that case, so am I.

Maybe he can do a guest spot at one of your next gigs. 16

I just got bored and recorded this in a couple of hours.  It's not properly mixed or anything and who knows if I will ever come back to it but check it out anyways. 5
