ps I love your description of Madagascar. In it's essence a very moving song lyrically which is killed by too many guitars, beeps and whistles. I wonder if there is a RIO type version in the vaults...an alternate take.

Sic, you still need to drop by every now and then.
Anyhow, it will take a while to read this. However, I find it very interesting that Axl didn't even want to record This I Love at all and Robin and Caram talked him in to it. I am sure that is why Axl let Robin do the solo.

thanks Bono! Good to see Tommy working. The drummer is great. He played a lot with Prince back in the day and plays with Paul Westerberg as well. The Minneapolis musicians are very close. Fuck, I wish Tommy and Paul could get back together. SA and The Replacements together would be a great show.

I think that Best Buy is planning to sell the rest of their copies of CD to the Princess Cruise Lines.
nope, they are going to give it away with the purchase of the Greatest Hits album which is sitting at number 2 on the Top Pop Catalog chart this week.

For what it's worth...
I love the solo on Shacklers.
I think that Bucket's solo on Rhaid is crap. Never understood why people talk it up like it's something really great. Bumbles is bad too, but it's better than the Bucket one. I mean, honestly, who could even say that Bucket's Rhaid solo is even close (in terms of quality) to some of Bucket's AVERAGE work? Buckethead is the bomb, but that solo wasn't.
And Bumble's solo in Catcher is pretty damn good if you ask me. Lots of emotion.
I honestly believe that Bucket is a great solo artist, but didn't preform well when confined to the GNR style. Not sure why.
I love Ron's contributions to the album as well....especially Catcher and Riad. There are Ron appreciators on this board, but as someone said earlier, we aren't as loud as the detractors.:haha:
I also love Bucket's stuff obviously and in a strange way think that the touring lineup should have Bucket, Ron, and Richard (or Paul). Bucket and Ron would be crazy together but I think it would work. Ron would do Robin's stuff and his stuff.
