Axl has NO business sense at all. I think everyone has known that for years.
And it's pretty pathetic that everyone (not here) is jumping on Beta's case. Axl is a grown ass man and makes his own decisions or non-decisions for that matter. It's not Beta's fault that he couldn't run a fuckin' gas station.
Are you stoned? Who is jumping on Beta's case?

I personally don't care what your friends think or what the public thinks for that matter. But, I wasn't "coming at you".....just pointing out that you do use "your friends" in a lot of posts. You and The Flash can go back to arguing now.

Our friends are the general public. You're suggesting the reaction of the public to certains things should just be ignored. Delet all the review threads and sales chart threads and whatever other thread discusses what people outside these forum walls think about certain albums or songs. I don;t se the point. If we discuss what teh general public thinks than of course all we have to refer to is our friends. I'm not sitting in a fucking mall conducting a survey to random people.
are you this argumentative in real life? ...or is the internet world your alter ego?

russtcb wrote:I guess I should clarify that I didn't mean that because Axl said it, it would come true.
I meant that for a multitude of reasons, I don't get why it's not out. For example, if it's already made (which if Lars has seen it, then I guess it is) why wouldn't the label just release it?
That's what I meant. I wasn't implying that I didn't understand why something Axl said was looking to be untrue.
Still not better Russ. While what Axl did when he came online and chatted with the fans is still a very cool thing. This whole CD thing has been just a giant clusterfuck of a mess. Axl never quite explained why CD was so hard to release. And obviously the clusterfuck is still going on even after it is released because he says it was rushed (That one is actually extremely funny), booklet was not ready, it was a double disc and whatever else Axl has said. After 14 fucking years the release of this album was just a huge mess and will continue to be a fucking mess. And the release of the Better video just further proves this. My advice to Axl is fuck CD! While it is a good album, just forget about it. From the beginning this album was just a HUGE mess. Just release your other albums and please move on. All we want as fans is hear new music , see Axl tour and be as successful as possible. Why CD was such a mess and was so hard to release? I don't know and to be honnest at this point I don't think I care to know anymore. We heard it, it is a good record but please Axl just move away from this record and move on to your next project. This will help GNR a lot more than a fucking video of Better that by now nobody cares about.
The most amazing thing to me about this is that GNR is run like you would run a fucking garage band and I thought that Azoff would fix this but he didn't. There I just summed it all up.
Azoff got the record out and squared the books between Axl and Geffen-a pretty big accomplishment in my mind. However, ultimately, no one will control Axl, and he will do what he wants. It is obvious that Axl has no desire to promote the record. It is what it is.
I agree, he should dump all the material in a collector's edition boxset and move on.:/

You make YOUR point and argument and be done with it. Your posts speak for themselves well enough.:)
My friends are the same type of people that make up the general public. Only I can actually talk to them . Gee what a fucking surprise. Overall popularity will be reflected by the charts but my circle of friends and people I know are some of the people determining the results of these charts. If I can't say what the people I know think than everyone else should just shut the fuck up when it comes to talking about what the people they've talked to think about CD think.

FlashFlood wrote:first and foremost nice post edit. second, you keep basing cd's success or lack thereof on what your friends say. so why not use the same standard on this U2 song? are your friends that dont like it saying "oh i dont like it i need to hear more songs" or this song fucking blows?
Ummm... yeah first and foremost I edited my post cause what I typed wasn't how I wanted it to come across. Gee that's what a post edit is for.
Secondly, Of my freinds who have heard Get On Your Boots I only know of six who have heard it. 4 of them didn't like it at all but all four came right out and said it's different and they're interested in the album because of that. One guy actually said "it sucks but it's kind of cool" That's a positive fail. Not a negative fail(CD) which is all I've heard based on my own personal experience. Excuse me for not jetsetting around the globe to gather opinions of random folks who have heard CD. The two of my friends that did like it simply said it was awesome. Not to mention the opinons of countless phone calls they put on air today from listener's pretty much echo what I'm saying to you. Sorry to burst your bubble but this song has made a much bigger impact on radio here(here where I live) than CD has alltogether. They've been talking about it nonstop since Friday when they knew it was coming out. That's not my fault man. If you're gonna hang out in a U2 thread in the hopes that I'll go all fanboy and start posting bullshit comments like EVERYONE I KNOW FUCKING LOVES IT than you're in for a big dissapointment. And if you're in here waitng for U2 to fail you're gonna be waiting forever man. Plus CD has nothing to do with this and if that's where you wanna take it man you're in for a harsh reality. This single and this album are gonna blow CD outta the water from a commercial success stand point. Not sure why you'd even wanna bring up CD or Gn'R in this thread. What's there to gain?

the entire rhythm section is cool.

Not that it really matters, but they are killing it over at the Velvet Rope-of course they kill everything over there. I like it but a few lines are pretty silly. "I don't want to talk about wars between nations"...:/

I have listened to it a few times and think it matches up well with Vertigo but isn't as good as Beautiful Day. I dig the dirty rhythm and bass. Thanks for the links.
