Not that it has to be the same but in 06 they hit the UK festival scene earlyish with Download as you'll remember. Then the rest of the summer euro festivals before heading back to the UK at the end of July for a stand alone mini tour.

Feel bad for Slash and Duff. This is gonna be a clusterfuck. But what the hell, they'll each get about $2m from Coachella if the thing doesn't implode.
Axl's proven he can do sustained touring over the last decade.
Regardless of your feelings on the quality he performed a shit load of shows from 09-14 and most of it was pretty drama free.
Add in Slash and Duff who are seasoned pros (who might just inspire Axl to a performance level Ron and Ashba couldn't) alongside Frank and Fortus who know exactly what their dealing with. Yes it might all blow up but there's plenty of reasons for optimism.

Besides the Kimmel cancellation which was a bummer, what's everyone so down about? Slash and Duff are back, most people have wanted to see this for 20 years!
Also regarding the Kimmel thing, whilst I'm as dissappointed as anyone it got cancelled would it not make more sense to do this in a couple of months? Coachella will sell out regardless of promo. It looks like not everything is in place yet anyway, why not hold out til nearer the shows so there's more to say, more rehearsals been done (hopefully), and maybe do a song or something?
Probably wishful thinking on my part but there is some logic to postponing a Kimmel type event until nearer the time.

Despite it being debated to death over the years a reunion always seemed so unlikely we never really considered the mechanics of it in reality.
Adler is not really up to it and Izzy doesn't want to do it (I'm guessing, I'm sure if he wanted in he could be). This is a GNR reunion in the real world, basically the 3 UYI survivors. Make no mistake this will be all about Slash, Axl and Duff, the remaining guys (whoever they may be) will be lucky to have a sentence dedicated between them when the first show reviews are written.

In all seriousness though, if there's 'incidents' already it doesn't bode well.
I wouldn't worry too much; Axl created a tight touring machine in the modern GN'R, and they have plenty of options for drummers. All they need to do is ensure that Slash, Axl and Duff are on stage and 90% of the audience will be happy. And Duff and Slash have a good head for business, they won't rock the boat (especially now that they've committed to the reunion with those social media posts).
Fair points and as you say I think Sorum is probably the most replaceable/expendable of the lot. If this is true I'm actually surprised Sorum is/was involved enough to be anywhere near having an 'incident' with Axl.

Yeah, whole lot of cynicism out there and Axl is the easiest target in the world. Brought it on himself with the antics of the past. They are going to need to get Duff and Slash out there promoting.
Absolutely, or even better as a 3, on something like Kimmel would be perfect.

I don't know details. I've heard rumblings that Matt and Axl had an incident. Don't know what or when exactly, but it seems to be tied to the Kimmel thing. What I don't know either is if Matt was out and it created the incident or if Matt is out because of the incident, but either way I would assume Matt is out. Completely I would guess.

clearly axl's only intention was to sell coachella & avoid questions of slash's return/lineup changes.unless they've something else cooking just not ready to announce yet..??
i doubt that tho. think this is just another example of the big guy pussying out/not showing up for his own reasons..I'm the last one to defend axl, but maybe there's more to the story.
