It's so difficult to tell who's telling the truth. It's somewhere in the middle. I am glad Axl has given us his side of the story regarding the old band. Slash and the boys definitely weren't as innocent as they have portrayed through the years, but at the same time I have a hard time fully believing some of the stuff Axl says. I have a tough time believing that the old members told him to sing whatever they wrote or fuck off. By that point Izzy was out of the band and the only other viable lyricist was Axl. The other guys are chumps in this department so I can't believe they would be arrogant enough to tell him not to write any lyrics. But hey, maybe they were that arrogant. Both Duff and Slash were completely trashed with drugs and alcohol back then. Both of those tend to alter your behavior.

It may not be, but to deny the fact that MyGNR & HTGTH heavily censor to KISS THE ASS of the band is undeniable.
They insult the intelligence of Guns N' Roses, they insult the intelligence of Axl and they insult the intelligence of their members.
They are basically telling you "Axl you're too STUPID to handle these questions". They are saying "Regular poster, you're too ignorant to know the right questions to ask".
You can talk all day about how it's no big deal, but the bottom line - it is. Nazis on a power trip controlling and censoring how the fans speak is beyond lame.
I once again want to thank the intelligent posters on those boards that asked good questions. But the trolls and mods have been a joke - like I expected them to be. Asskissers to the 'nth degree.
Come on, nobody is insulting anybody's intelligence...if you read it and respond you are no different. Fuck'em .....let them do what they want. Seriously, why would Axl even remotely think about coming here? Re-read your own posts. Nobody wants to consistently live their life in a confrontational, argumentative manner....much less a guy with a pretty "tumultuos" life. Why spend your energy on so much negative stuff? Axl seems pretty happy and semi content....let it be.:peace:

I think he was pretty honest and upfront that he doesn't really have any mapped out plans for a tour or the release of another record. Outside of a video, which should be released either way, what is happening that doesn't happen with any other normal record???

Riad is at least 99 as Freese did the original drum arrangement.....check the credits. Freese left in 99 so the song was written before then. I still am a firm believer that Oklahoma is Riad. (and please don't tell me this was proven false by some drunk roadie and fan at the Vegas 01 show-complete hearsay. Oh yeah, Prostitute isn't really Prostitute either.:haha:) It is not a coincidence that they were getting confused and it is not a coincidence that Oklahoma was played for David Wild at the same time Catcher, CD, The Blues, IRS, and TWAT. All the other songs ended up on the album and somehow Oklahoma didn't? Bullshit. Riad is Oklahoma . If I wasn't so lazy I would dissect the lyrics to show you how they fit with Axl's description of the song.
Obviously I was wrong as Axl clearly said Oklahoma is not Riad. Well, I may have a bruised ego but at least we definitely have another track floating out there.:mosh:

A: Another one step at a time question! It’s not Oklahoma which later became Berlin and subject to change.

Axl said it himself, we're talking about this in our own backyard.
These chats were in no way meant for promo imo. Axl could've talked to anyone in the world he wanted to. Broke his silence to any network.... and he chose us. The big interview scored from Axl... was the fans. And for free.
Axl knows just about everyone on these boards has already bought the album, went to concerts, and supported the band every step of the way, whether good or bad feedback. We've been there.
I feel touched by that gesture. It means alot. It's basically his way of saying, I know you guys were there and bought the album, and put the numbers up that it got, and for that - I thank you.
I know GN'R is a big brand name, but even through bandmates and Axl's personal life, he's surrounded himself by his group. A video may be ready, a big promotion, who knows... but at the end of the day, he himself might be satisfied with his dedicated and loyal diehards, and not really looking for that casual fan. The one that as soon as it's not cool to like GN'R, it's "fuck this, and fuck that" and they bail on the band.
I'm probably looking too far into it tho...
maybe not, he already has alot of money and will always have catalog sales from the old records. He did not seem upset at all about CD's sales....did he even bring it up? He also discussed the release of more material so he seemed pretty at peace to me....maybe he was stoned as beeejebus?!:haha:
