1.5 million at 9 a cd is $13,500,000 on a one way which means Geffen doesn't have to take them back. Go to Best Buy in a few months and you'll get it free with a purchase of a 19 inch TV.

"I doubt he ever planned on doing any promo. As for disappearing, he hasn't. He's working on the next version of the packaging, as he isn't satisfied with the current version.
There will probably be a revised version with new artwork and new master, but a deluxe is most likely a no go."

Neemo, maybe merge the Gnr sells under 300,000 in to this thread? Only one chart position thread is needed. I am old and confused. Seriously, one chart thread which discusses all album and singles facts and figures.

Axl is fucked up no doubt...the whole saga is fucked up. However, if you recall Bob Ludwig said he got the final mixes for mastering in October 2008. Go back and read that article from him. The whole thing is insane and I have no desire either to hear yet another mix.

I'd be willing to bet that if we can see this isn't a band than Axl sure as hell knows it's not a band. This can't be what he hoped for. he wanetd it to be Guns N' Roses. Well that never materialized. Instead it did become an Axl Rose solo project and more people now than ever admit it. It's Axl and his many hired Guns who produced a sound which in my opinion he likely isn't satisfied with. I honestly believe he put it out to wash his hands of it. The label took it and now it's done. He's not happy with the result so he feels no desire to promote it. I woudln't be surprised if Axl wants to be part of a real band for a change. What better guys out there than oh I don't know.......

No Axl, horrendous errors on the lyrics in the booklet (obviously done by someone at the record label who can't tell what Axl is saying)....something is wrong.

I wouldn't go that far as to say Contraband killed CD since it only pushed 2k more units in it's first week, four years ago. It's scary how close the numbers are. Makes me wonder what a illusions era line up could pull off.
The sales are pretty much what I expected. Nickelback only pushed 325,000 units in their first week. 250k is hardly a flop. Oh and since I'm spewing out random numbers, Hinder sold 91k in their first week.

Anybody got a source for those alleged final numbers of 254,000? Final numbers are suppose to come on 12-3 and the Billboard 200 chart is not released until Thurs 12-4.
ps I initially thought Sorry would be a good radio song as well. After this week, I don't know what to think is good, bad, radio worthy etc...:nervous:
