Axl can always release what's left as a solo record....it still has some commercial value...not tto mention having the original band re-record certain unreleased songs if they see fit.
Regarding sales, I just want to know what Iovine was thinking when he said that it "is exceeding expectations". My boy on the Rope predicted small sales in the US and large sales worldwide. We shall see.

most likely true....regardless of the quality.

KANYE CAUSES HEARTBREAK FOR CHALLENGERS
West’s New Album Will Approach 500k, as Guns (300k), Ludacris (225k) and The Killers (200k) All Trail
Considering all the hype for this record and the fact it was released under the GNR name, that is pretty troubling for the GNR camp. I realize we're in an era where album sales aren't near what they used to be, but it should have been higher and this shows Axl that the GNR name doesn't pull as much weight as it used to.
300k is more than my initial prediction, but they cant be too happy about this.
A Barry Manilow hits album sold almost a third of what Chinese Democracy is expected to sell.
Not this stupid shit again...people might waste their time voting multiple times for the singles, but most of the people that were going to buy multiple copies already did so. Sorry to burst your bubble.
I agree with you on that point, but let's not refer to peoples posts as "stupid shit". He isn't trolling so there's no need to take such a harsh tone. He just wants the album to succeed. Like you said though, the multiple copy buyers are already done buying, and its time for Joe Public to be the deciding factor.
What's the latest on CD and Better as singles? I haven't heard anyone glaoting about it recently, so I'm going to go with not good.
Yeah the silence at all these sites regarding the album's catchiest track speaks volumes about its chart position without even needing to look at the charts.
When a washed up AC/DC sells 748,000 and Metallica does around 600,000 (very very similar acts to Gnr in terms of stature), 300k from Gnr is NOT good. It tells you the brand can't overcome the damage that has been done by the breakup of the original band....even I will admit that. The record has gotten, overall, very good critical reviews. Of course, the general public doesn't give a shit about most reviews. On the flip side, if this thing tanks, maybe Axl will dump all the remaining material in to a box set special edition for the hard cores and call it a day with the remnants of the "new" Gnr. We'll know what's gonna happen by the end of the year.
As for the single, CD is number 6 on Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks after 4 weeks.:ummm:

It'd be pathetic. Do GN'R need to sue anyone to make him/her/it buy a copy?
apparently so!:haha: Can we sue Axl for Chinese Democracy being a "unmitigated disaster which defrauded customers."

KANYE CAUSES HEARTBREAK FOR CHALLENGERS
West’s New Album Will Approach 500k, as Guns (300k), Ludacris (225k) and The Killers (200k) All Trail
November 26, 2008
Kanye’s the king of Thanksgiving week.
West's Roc-a-Fella/Def Jam album, 808s and Heartbreak, in which he tackles the Auto-Tuner and his own inner demons, will be #1 on next Tuesday’s chart with a total that looks to be between 450-500k.
That’ll be more than enough to beat back Axl Rose and his first Guns N’ Roses album in some 15 years, Chinese Democracy, which will move around 300k, more or less, out of Best Buy outlets. And that’s including the 25k or so not counted opening week at iTunes for the Sunday release.
Ludacris’ Island Def Jam album, Theater of the Mind, looks good for 225k, followed by the other one of IDJ’s big holiday power trio, The
Killers’ Day and Age, clocking in with 200k more or less.
Finally, what would the turkey shoot be without Barry Manilow? The "Copacabana" guy scores 85k for his new Arista/RMG album, The Greatest Songs of the Eighties, thanks to huge QVC sales.
Coldplay’s Prospekt’s March EP on Capitol will chalk up between 75-80k, while Capitol Nashville’s Trace Adkins appears headed for the 40-45k area for his new album, X.
After some Monday confusion over release dates (all three major circulars advertised the IDJ albums coming on Tuesday), the numbers seem back to normal.
Meanwhile, the market was up 6% vs. last week, down 32% vs. same week last year and now down 14% year to date. Feels like a tryptophan hangover even before the turkey is served.

told ya...I'm done. It's all trivial actually.... Have fun debating about the Catcher in the Rye solo. Man, Axl should have done that....
#5837 Re: Guns N' Roses » Chinese Democracy official reviews thread » 911 weeks ago
I am not talking about whatever the hell you just posted. I don't give a fuck what happens at other boards. All I am saying is that the record being released has finally opened people up to express their true feelings. This is and has always been a board for the "disenfranchised " Gnr fan....a board to sound off your grievances. Easily 3 out of every 4 posts is negative. You can post however you want, just be honest and don't try to act like you really care when you don't. Don't act like you want to see good reviews when deep down, you really don't. Anybody who focuses on something as trivial as thanking George Chin twice in the liner notes is just itching to complain. Whatever, I'm done with this. (I'm sure some here would like to see that!).
#5838 Re: Guns N' Roses » Chinese Democracy official reviews thread » 911 weeks ago
Nobody is asking you to be an ass kisser. I just find it weird that the album finally gets released-it's over it's done-and the anger and craziness on this board has multiplied. All the old issues come back to life with even more vitriol than before. I just think people weren't really telling the truth and showing their true feelings in the past. Now, the real Slim Shady is showing up and true battle lines are drawn. In the end, after all the bullshit this whole saga put us through, I guess it is understandable.
#5839 Re: Guns N' Roses » Chinese Democracy official reviews thread » 911 weeks ago
bullshit.......you are lying straight through your teeth. You guys win. Every other post is a flame war. You win. I give up....and for the record, what exactly has Axl said?
#5840 Re: Guns N' Roses » Chinese Democracy official reviews thread » 911 weeks ago
don't worry, very few on this board want to hear anything positive....but here is an interesting one from David Wild who first heard the tracks in Nov 1999...
