I think both Slash and Axl, and their camps, are revisionists.
I'm glad Slash seems to be moving on. Apocalyptic Love, although weak in some points, is a consistent album and has some really good guitar from Slash, things I haven't heard from him since his GNR days.
I hope Axl moves on as well.

Or how he wants people to remember stuff...
Anyone wants to place a bet that could last a few years to be resolved?
I bet Slash will say in the future that he NEVER wanted his place back on Guns N' Roses and that Axl was the one wanting a reunion all these years..

By lying his way over the last 20+ years?
He's fucking lying in this interview, when he says " I knew in my heart it was never going to happen because I left the band in the early 1990s. I have never really had any expectations since then." YEAH RIGHT.
I'm not a Slash basher or an Axl supporter, nowadays I just had enough of BOTH of them with their misleadings and frequent revisions of history.

MAN UP, YOU TWO, SLASH AND AXL. TAKE RESPONSIBILITY OF WHAT YOU'VE DONE AND WHAT YOU'VE SAID AND STOP BEING LAME ASS LIARS AND WORRY MORE ABOUT ARTISTIC AND CREATIVE ENDEAVORS THAN THE LIMELIGHT OR BEING HELD AS THE SAINT WHEN YOU ARE BOTH TO BLAME.

I am Axl and I can positively say I'm not paying Ali to defend me.
Oh wait...
#585 Re: Guns N' Roses » Doug Goldstein Letter to Axl » 692 weeks ago
I think that implying he's a liar is far aggressive. I've never seem Ali being disrespectful with anybody so I think this is pretty unfair.
He usually has a pro-Axl point of view but that doesn't mean he's a liar or an employee (although that may be the case
). Sometimes his points may sound over what we have as common sense or even what we have as fact but to start being disrespectful with the guy (as all the little jokes as he may be a she) is not what this forum is about, specially when the only thing he holds against people is a difference of opinion.

Just noting that the tour started late in 2009 in Asia. I've seen them in March 2010. But all your points are correct, Russ.

I think the point is not if Axl was behind how the contract was presented but if he consciously took advantage of the fact instead of holding it as assurance in case they were dead or too strung out.

I'm sorry. But nobody loved Duff that much (only on a Gnr board with some crazy fuckin fanatics)....he was just another bass player and was a burned out fat, alcoholic junkie during the UYI era. I was there. I actually know. People knew and still know Gnr as Axl/Slash.

Sad but true.
Outside the fanbase, even Izzy is dismissed. To the average Joe, only Axl and Slash matter, as in many other bands: Jagger/Richards, Bono/Edge (I cannot even name U2's bass player without google), Page/Plant, etc... The exception may be The Beatles, but if you'd make a concert in the nineties with George and Ringo and name it a reunion, interest wouldn't be that great either.
And it is this way with GNR ex-members still: headlines are always "GNR drummer (news)" or "GNR bass player (news)" and the content is always one paragraph news, three of old days, being two about Axl. Exception may be Slash, but only lately.

With Carol King going to town... Didn't want to post another thread, this rocks..[/
The best part is Slash wearing a NIN t-shirt!
Axl must've loved this!

I think he'd be in a higher level than current GNR if he went solo.
