Digging the top one.
The other should disappear into a dark hole with no hope of escape.

I think this is relatively on point...I don't see the motivation for creating new material anymore. I cannot imagine what it was like to try and be creative from the mid 1990s to 2008 when CD was released. There was nothing in it for him anymore by the end...all the money and attention was in playing the old hits and getting the old band back together.
Remember how cool it was for awhile to shit all over Axl Rose?
I mean, from what I've seen on the wide web, it still is.

I'm not really buying that the jam is The General, tbh. Or that this random Mexican band supposedly ripped the song off.
But hey, cool if it's true.

I still think there's a chance Axl gets off his ass and wants to put something out; I kinda doubt he wants CD to end up being cemented as the final thing GN'R as a whole releases. I love CD, but for the majority of the world, it's looked at as a joke and a failure. If Axl wanted to go out as a joke and a failure, he would've hung it up after the '14 Vegas residency instead of working things out for the reunion. Now, there's an equally good chance he does nothing and coasts to the finish line, of course.
But I look at it like this: the AFD re-release, and especially the releasing of SOYL as a "new single" are a testing of the waters. If not, why even go through the effort of playing it live? And well at that. And releasing a music video for it with clips of current members - they could've easily just done one with old school pics of the AFD lineup or A/S/D only. Considering that it shot up the Billboard charts, despite being 32 years old, it probably showed Axl/the label/any other idiot that needed convincing that there's still a massive interest in new GN'R music. Axl saying that he's enjoying Wichita Lineman so much because it reminds him of old Guns is another interesting bit.
I just can't write off him doing something eventually... it won't be soon is all.

And unfortunately it reveals fuck all. We might as well have gotten an interview from Dizzy! Lol
Well, it at least confirms they haven't been working on anything. Not that that's a good thing, but then again, I have my doubts Axl would say anything if they were.

dalethirsty wrote:“I was really happy with a lot of the material and I think we went in to do basic tracks and with a new drummer we did 36 songs in 36 days, so we weren’t fucking around,” says Slash. “After the basic tracks were done, I’d spend three weeks doing guitars, which for 30 songs was actually pretty fast. I was sometimes doing two songs in one day. But everything hit a brick wall when it came to doing the synthesizer stuff, and I never agreed with doing the synthesizer stuff anyway. Although I think some of it is brilliant, it was part of the new way, which was the beginning of the end. That was the beginning of the whole process taking forever. It was like a lot of days were not working, some days it was working, and most of the record was finished. It didn’t really need all the rest of it. That was the biggest disagreement for me.”
Izzy Stradlin was also exiling himself, distanced by the scale of the recording. “I did the basic tracks, then he [Slash] did his tracks, like a month or two by himself,” he said. “Then came Axl’s vocal parts. I went back to Indiana…”
“Well Axl’s a… perfectionist,” says Duff slowly. “That’s what makes him great. The end product’s great, but it gets maddening to work with that person. There’s no hashing out with them. November Rain in particular, the song was torturing him. He was happy he was finally finished with it. It wasn’t really characteristic of the band.”
a raw use your illusion as one album without all the filler would have been amazing.
i'd love to hear that version someday.
but then there's also this interesting quote from axl:
“We knew we had to bury Appetite in some way,” Rose told Hit Parader, soon after their release. “There was no way to out-do that album, and if we didn’t outdo Appetite in one way or another it was going to take away from our success and the amount of power we had gained to do what we wanted. I’ve never really looked at it as two separate albums. I’ve always looked at it as an entire package. For me it fits together perfectly for the 30 songs in a row. Everything that we decided to record for the album made it.”
It's obvious Axl never wanted to bury AFD. $1000 for AFD Box and $179 for AFD Deluxe. AFD dominates NITL setlist. Doesn't look like AFD is buried to me.
Yeah, 27 years after the quote was made. I'm certain that Axl in 1991 didn't feel like having AFD as the band's main lasting legacy. Singing the same songs every show for over 30 years. But then, I doubt he saw everything going to shit as much as it did.

This has to be someone from one of the other forums trolling. Nobody can give this much of a fuck about a goddamn remix of ITW. Nobody. That shitstick Walker went out of his way to buy Ashba Water, maliciously take down thousands of GN'R bootlegs, and be an overall fucking turd. And I'd argue he's still more sane than the person that would give this much of a shit about a shitty remix of a 10-year old song.

It means we should have everything which hasn't been released that's recorded. Including the "complete" itw remix.
Okay. Go to Axl's front gate and ask for it. He's proven to be such a reasonable and giving fella in regards to his unreleased music, I'm sure he'll load it right up on a USB for you. Or you could go to that little shitbird Walker or MSL and ask them for it. Take some initiative!
