family of players revolving around the singer....always will be from here on out. Axl isn't giving up control....reunion or no reunion.

Bucket's solo on Sorry is straight up blues. I assume you guys haven't heard that one because it is absolutely pristine and soulful as soul gets.

I hope not, because I think the Bucket vs Bumble threads are much more interesting.
Valid points have been raised though. People have said for years that all he does is shred, and now its turning into 'he's trying to copy Slash'. I had no idea that Slash was 'a freak that shreds with no emotion'. Guess I need to go buy those old GNR albums again.
Anybody who has seen Bucket on a solo tour should know how much of a better player he is than Slash....it is too obvious. You can argue about their songwriting skills and contributions to individual songs, but there is no question about who has more overall guitar playing talent. That includes Blues, Shred, Metal, Ballads, et al....acoustic/electric...doesn't matter. Yes, I think Slash could have added some cool stuff to Chinese. But, he certainly should not have touched any of Bucket's stuff.

sweet...I have nothing to say. Bono, nice post. Nut cuttin' time comes soon. Axl will either be redeemed or damned from a commercial standpoint, and it is out of our control...the way it should be. I like the album and think it is a pretty solid record. However, I have no clue what the masses will do with it. I do know one thing, there are not many hard rock artists who could put out something this diverse.....a pretty eclectic record.

While there had to be other reasons, that's a good point. Standing next to Finck and Fortus had to make him chuckle, especially if he read fan forums and saw GNR fans shitting on him while calling someone who didn't do jack shit a guitar god.
I wouldn't come back if I was him either.
GNR fans have to eat crow now that they see he was a dominating factor in the Chinese Democracy sessions. He's been gone almost five years, yet he's all over the record.
GNr fans also have to eat crow regarding all the hatred towards Paul Tobias over the years.
Its impossible to like this album without acknowledging the talents and contributions of Buckethead and Paul Tobias.
I would have to fall more in the I think Bucket got tired of
1. Not being the only lead guitarist. and
2. Looking at the other guys around him and chuckling. I don't have specific quotes but I damn sure remember a ton of rumors from some slightly credible sources that Robin and Bucket did not "jive'.

I assume this was 2006
ZM: You're currently on tour with Guns N' Roses, how is the experience compared to say, when touring with Nena?
RF: Man it's good to get back onto the road with them (Guns N' Roses) again, a few weeks ago we laid down some new recordings, just junk you know, but one came out of it called Motormouth and Axl said "Man that's the one we need right there"
