even more ridiculous.......this whole thing is a complete joke.

#6342 Re: Guns N' Roses » Del James Interview » 922 weeks ago

yeah, I guess Marc Canter is an Axl kiss ass too because he says Slash should publically apologize to Axl for all the things Slash has said in the press. Marc has been very opinionated on the subject and is still close friends with both. The whole thing is stupid, but I still feel Axl's side gets trampled on the most. Some of it is deserved, but alot of stuff he gets blamed for is bullshit.

THAT WAS AWFUL AND THIS WHOLE THING BORDERS ON ASSINE...I hate video games and can't believe the first single is going to be released this way. All these stupid fucking fan manipulations....just brutal.

#6344 Re: Guns N' Roses » Will you still buy CD? » 922 weeks ago

actually, I don't think we know what  Axl really thinks about ANY of them. Outside of Izzy, there are no long term high school relationships. It is obvious that he always goes back to his earliest buddies for support when needed.

#6345 Re: Guns N' Roses » We still might get CD before X-Mas » 922 weeks ago

listen, USA Today isn't going to print ANYTHING about this record unless it was an almost certain deal-they have been burned before and actually turned pretty cynical for the last couple of years. The Best Buy deal is basically done according to multiple different sources. This is it. Axl08, this isn't fan bullshit anymore. These are major players who don't just make shit up. It's time for people to get paid-----Azoff, Iovine, and Mr Rose himself. I would think the Best Buy deal alone will pay back recording costs.

another review.......................

Sweet Revenge

Rating: **** (4 of 5)

Track: Shackler's Revenge
Band: Guns N' Roses
Source: Rock Band 2 (playlist)

Who's Shackler? We don't know either but he'll have his revenge soon, as Guns N' Roses air out some clean laundry from their mythic and forever unreleased album Chinese Democracy. Forget the dirty laundry (the demos, the leaks, the fakes) - this is the real deal.

A new, official and soon to be released track that will be tied to the Rock Band 2 videogame (MTV/Harmonix) being unleashed in September for the Xbox and in December for the PS3 and Wii platforms.

We've heard it. The verdict? Oh man.

"I've got an itchy finger and there'll be hell to pay," scowls Axl Rose in a baritonish chant, but he needn't fret or lose sleep anymore; his vocal cadence commanders this grinding disco anthem like General Patton driving his tank through a Sicilian village.

Shackler's Revenge harks back nine years to that lone other nu-GnR song, the pummeling Oh My God from the Arnold Schwarzenegger bomb End of Days - only the grime and distortion has now been replaced by in-your-face hooks, assaultive choruses and a front and center swooping drumbeat. Unshakable and uncompromising industrial blast rock for the dance floor.

Some GnR diehards will scream bloody murder but even the sleaziest Sunset stripper won't be able to sit still to the infectious groove of this Frankenrawk.

It sounds effortless, almost rushed, and it'll be fun to survey how every lyric, riff and loop will be scrutinized by the mainstream media, critics and crazy fans to the point of madness. If anything was ever a no win situation it's Rose and his next album. Only the masturbatory midsong solo by Buckethead (or is that Bumblefoot?) seems jaded - but good luck keeping up with it in the game, kids!

Guitar gymnastics aside, Revenge is a charging slice of Rob Zombified disco n' roll in GnR clothing and with a red bandana. A fist in the face of expectations and doomy naysayers; all waiting, teeth glaring, in the lobby of the jungle for the Lion King and his comrades to finally emerge from the shadows with that damn Democracy.

Hey, Joe Public probably won't even recognize this as Guns N' Roses.

Maybe that was Axl's plan all along.

Revenge can be sweet.

BLS-PRIDE, absofuckinlutely.....we have no idea who does what. Crazy Gnr fans guess and then everyone else buys in to one person's made up fantasy world. ......too funny......like, for example, is it confirmed that Ron plays the solo on this track? Sounds like Bucket to me....or just because Ron is on it, we assume he is doing the solo.....we have no clue. And, I still bet, when the album comes out, we still have no clue as it will be performed by "Guns N' Roses" with generic tracklistings of lead guitar, rhythm guitar, trombone, etc....the best we are going to get is specific writing credits.

#6350 Re: Guns N' Roses » Chinese Democracy Album Timeline » 922 weeks ago

actually various band members and management have been talking about the record since 1994...that is 14 years since I have began waiting because I still remember reading all these articles you sourced at the time!

"January 1994: Slash tells Kerrang! magazine the next GN'R album will be out in the summer.

Early 1994: Axl, Slash, bassist Duff McKagan, drummer Matt Sorum, keyboardist Dizzy Reed and guitarist Gilby Clarke enter the studio to begin work on their first album of original material since the 1991 albums Use Your Illusion I and II..  GnR's record company Geffen says they hope to have the album out before the end of the year.
