Neemo.....I am not reaching at all and more than one person sees the Prostitute theme in the words and lyrics....geesh. I also gave 3 or 4 other reasons why it most likely is Prostitute, you guys have nothing but Dave's cryptic messages and well, nothing! I am sorry people don't have basic hearing, listening and reading comprehension skills. The sky is red my friend. Why? Because I think so.....Now, the song may not be named Prostitute but the lyrics and the few lines I mentioned clearly refer to someone selling themself out like a Prostitute. Whether you see that or not is immaterial.

Ask Yourself,
What I Would Do
To Prostitute, Myself,
To Live With Fortune And Shame
maybe Axl is a Prostitute and can live with Fortune and Shame.....:haha::laugh::smile:

And Finally Neemo, you have the only line in the song that is repeated twice.....closest thing you have to a chorus and it comes at the peak moments in the song.
"All That Amounts To
Is Love That You've Crippled For Fortune And Fame!"
in other words, like a prostitute sells their body for money, the chick sold Axl out for money and fame. She sacrificed her love, like a prostitute sacrifices their body, for money and fame. Prostitute is selling yourself out and that is what Axl obviously thinks Stephanie or whoever did to him. I believe she left Axl and went on to marry someone richer than him.
Id, I am waiting on that rocker as well.....a real epic rocker.:/
off to work...

I also hear the "tute" part of the word in the song and agree with WAR and Dave that he says
Ask Yourself,
What I Would Do
To Prostitute, Myself,
To Live With Fortune And Shame
prostitute in this sense is being equated to someone selling themself and their morals and ethics for money.

A prostitute has to live with fortune AND shame. Especially in Axl's world, LA-Hollywood, there are a lot of high priced hookers who make a lot of money. However, they are still prostitutes and have to live with the SHAME of being a prostitute. Axl is saying he doesn't want to be like a prostitute and have both fortune and shame. Pretty simple analogy in my opinion.
Overall, it seems to be about his relationship with Stephanie which again puts it in the timeframe of 98-99 when the song first surfaced as a working title. Also, the timeframe where everyone says the album was all about Stephanie.

and it is also not coincidence that this track has strings.....Buckmaster sounding strings just like the Blues, TWAT, and Maddy....all of which have leaked. What were the four songs Buck worked on ? Maddy Prostitute twat and the blues........no Beltrami songs have leaked...coincidence again? I think not. Bullshit on your four people Dave unless you are going to name them. The lyrics fit PERFECTLY Neemo in multiple verses in the song.....not sure what you are missing like Mister ID pointed out. He says Prostitute...it is on the setlist with the other leaked tracks.....bullshit. It's Prostitute until PROVEN differently. Fire and ICE is well on display as well since the song goes from soft to hard in multiple places and the ending is pure ICE after a firey raveup. So it is 6 minutes instead of four....Buck may have been wrong or the song was extended and he didn't know about it since he did his work 6 years ago! I think the song is fantastic either way so shoot me!:buckethead: So some Gnr fans will be disappointed...fuck them as well. Most Gnr fans simply can't take the fact that Axl doesn't give two shits about pleasing them. If the song isn't filled with generic old Gnr, Aerosmith riffs, then it sucks. Maybe Axl is going after a different audience? Maybe he doesn't want the same old same old. Good for him. Of course he does need to release it officially.:nervous:

Madagascar.....good song but the studio version is stiff as a brick and Axl's vocals are brutal.

Bash and Pop -- Friday Night Is Killing Me
I bought this album in 1993, when it was released. I must have played it, but I don't recall much about the music at all. My loss. This is Tommy Stinson's band, and Tommy had just left The Replacements because that old blowhard Paul Westerberg wouldn't let anybody sing or play anything but Paul Westerberg songs. So Tommy split the 'Mats, switched from bass to lead guitar, and then unleashed a batch of songs that sound rowdier and looser than anything The Replacements had recorded since the mid-'80s.
Tommy's a more than capable frontman, and his scratchy tenor recalls Rod Stewart when he could still sing rock 'n roll. And Rod really is the touchstone here because Tommy and his bandmates clearly love that early '70s ramshackle boogie when Ronnie Wood was still trading off gigs betwen The Faces and The Rolling Stones. It's an uneven effort. The ballads don't work, but there aren't that many ballads, and at least none of them are entitled "Tonight's the Night." The rockers and mid-tempo tunes are fabulous, though, and this album is well worth tracking down.

this album does have some great tunes on it and you could probably find it cheap as dirt.:haha:

I am thinking Baz has been perpetually drunk since he began touring with Axl again. He runs his mouth like he's drunk.
