#711 Re: Guns N' Roses » Matt Sorum open to Playing with Current GNR Line-up » 620 weeks ago

It's clear Axls no angel, far too much evidence to the contrary over the past 25 years. I think it's safe to say the others weren't saints either but for the purposes of media it's easier to have black and white, good guys and bad. Axl got painted bad and the others good and they were happy to let it happen cos well who wouldn't? Axls general silence with press combined with public displays of diva behaviour cemented the image and it remains to this day. However for me there's no way any of them went from borderline homeless tramps to multi millionaires playing to hundreds of thousands of people every week and all the shit that goes with it in 6 years and come out flawless people. It was always said Matts problem was he had no tact and would just call Axl on something without any sense of diplomacy, not the worst trait in the world but dangerous when dealing with over sensitive lead singers. He probably sees now with VR dead that his last big paycheck also lies with a reunion. Duff and Izzy doing the odd gig with Axl will be as encouraging a sign to him as it is us. In typical Matt fashion he's probably just stoking the fires, at this stage what is there to lose?

Loved this show

Hidden Text:

Walts definitely dead, otherwise what's the point? Cancer and gunshot wound aside he somehow escapes a farm full of cops to do what?  He's made peace with his family and secured their future. He went to the farm knowing that was his end but he'd try and avenge hank on his way out and that's what happened.

Im curious to know in a few years where it'll stand in peoples 'all time' lists and how it holds up against Sopranos etc. For me it's right up there but whether it'll drop in time I don't know.

Yup. For guitar hero especially.

Never got that. As endorsements go it's an obvious fit. Popular guitar based video game, it's a no brainer to any guitarist. The appearance with Bill Gates was lame but otherwise made complete sense. Likewise it's not like Axls put his name to Disney or something, what's he done in recent times, GTA and beer? I've got no issue with those, don't know why anyone would tbh.

Meh I liked it (not musically), made me smile. Never had an issue with Slash promoting stuff and I don't mind Axl doing it either. Glad to see him on something that puts him back in the mainstream.

Shame, always tried to keep us fans in the loop in a sometimes impossibly frustrating situation. If true Axls lost the best thing that happened to this band pr wise in 20 years.

Best of luck for the future Ron!

Top marks for that one! He sounded bang on.

Some of the lyrics are great, others not so. It bugged me that it swung between deep/poetic to childish and lame but then I wondered if it was written intentionally polar in nature?

#718 Re: Guns N' Roses » New Revolver interview with Axl » 624 weeks ago

Is Ron definitely going then or is it still just rumour? People are talking like it's fact?

#719 Re: Guns N' Roses » New Revolver interview with Axl » 624 weeks ago

Doesn't sound like he's ready to pack it in does it? Nice interview, good to see new music is at least an intention, I was beginning to wonder.

I've never heard of this guy before, it sounds like he was 'inner circle' as well.

I wonder if Axls laywers have been through this yet?
