I've come to accept that GnR was a flash in the pan...lightning in a bottle...it was good while it lasted and they have managed to make a living off of their accolades for the past 30 or more years so good on them

There are still flashes of brilliance sure, but it's more like a 30sec snippet here or there and not the hour plus full albums from their youth...also it's debatable to me whether the uyi material has stood the test of time...lots of cringy shit on those 2 disks

You are not a flash in the pan if you can still  sell as many tickets as they currently do. They are still a force in the industry despite all their efforts to blow it

Let’s be honest....the people who bought Chinese were in essence Axl diehards. So, In my opinion he would have had a large following, by normal standards, had he released Chinese as a solo record. Ozzy did well with his solo guitar wizard. Axl would have done the same with Buckethead....think TWAT released as a lead off single to an Axl solo album. Pretty fucking good had the masses heard it in that context. Hard to believe a tune like that got buried before it even had a chance. When really put in context of what should have happened but what actually did, it is one of the biggest colossal fuck ups, could a shoulda woulda twists of fate in music history.

The whole thing is baffling...any normal thinking individual would take some of the Chinese leftovers and use them as his songs for a Gnr record. Then, take some of the crazy stuff and use that for a solo record. He could win on both fronts. He chooses to do neither. axl

Best bet is all we get this year is a UYI 30 year anniversary Deluxe Edition and Super Deluxe edition. axl92

Bad Company thing is a bit more tongue and cheek!!! It came on at the wrong time and I was thinking that another tour without a song or album may put them in the REO Speedwagon category. Ha...

Monkey, you have always been a glass half full guy, which is better than negative Nancy like me. But, the issue isn’t whether or not there is killer stuff in the vault. The issue is nobody seems to want to release anything! Not the record company, not the band, not literally anybody. All good to play SCOM ad nauseoum. It is well beyond mind boggling that they can’t release one song in 13 years. Slash and Duff have literally added nothing other than trotting out the hits for the masses while putting more cash in Axl’s bank account. It’s actually not a joke anymore because people don’t care enough to make the joke....Bad Company 3.0

Ok...for some horrible reason I am watching a Bad Company concert  on AXS TV, Guns literally could be closer to them than say where they should be in the Stones/U2 category
