Release date:24 June 2023
4 hours

Knowing the BBC 4 hours may not mean we get the whole gig. I'm sure there will be fan interviews and stuff spliced in, Glastonbury coverage is often not just about the music but also covering other things goin on at the festival. It's clear we are are getting a lot of pro shot footage coming though, and a lot of exposure for the band.
If you are outside of the UK you can probably use a VPN to watch it, but i'm sure someone will be able to rip video from the Iplayer fairly quick and upload it for people outside of the UK

Really terrific work!

The video mentioned AI stem splitters to isolate different instruments.

Which programs do you recommend? Do you get better results using a CD vs. an MP3 or are they pretty much the same in terms of final product?

It has been 20 years but I wonder if this Blaster guy is still around and has those three songs.

Thank man, I use https://www.lalal.ai/ It does cost money but it's been pretty good for the locker leaks. I have decent sounding accapella's/ instrumentals, drum tracks from all the locker leaks. A few pages back i posted the Perhaps accapella. Use WAV or FLAC files if you can

In terms of splitting the cell clip obviously it doesnt work as well and it's impossible to get rid of all the crowd chatter without damaging the audio you want to keep.

Here we go, seems clear to me that soundcheck tune is The General

I wonder how the orchestrations fit in. Is it an intro or is it playing over the song itself?

Well i recomend decent head phones, but when the hip hop loop part comes in you can hear it. Now it's buried and I mean VERY buried in the audio but it's there. Only parts of it mind you, but then we only have parts of the song, so I wouldn't expect to hear it all.

I did years ago try to layer over the 06 intro over the clip, but anyone who has ever done that may notice a slight tempo descrepency.

I believe the reason for that may be the frame rate different audio is sourced from. If you have ever tried making a mix of a live track using audio from different sources you may notice that audio taken from 2 different phones layered over each other doesn't quite match up, one will be slightly quicker than the other. If someone booted a show on an actual recorder like a mini Zoom or something it was still common for phone audio from the exact same gig/song to be different tempo

This is not so much a problem now as everyone is shooting 1080p 60fps bare minimum but it was quite a problem back in the day.

The other option is they changed Beltramis work, or even scrapped it and used pittman on a synth but those options are less likely i think.

I don't believe Beltramis stuff is an intro or outro however, if it was I doubt it would have so much silence between the parts. More likely it's the "Additional Instruments" stem to use Rockband multis languge lol.

They earliest I have traced the Beltrami stuff back to in terms of people who I believe were played stuff/ have discs was a guy named Blaster back in 2003, I believe Lourenco may have had contact with him. People spent so much time scouring GN'R forums for leads on it, but only a few it seems had the idea to search message boards for Marco Beltrami. Blaster claimed in 2003 he was played a cd with 3 songs on of Beltrami's stuff and said it was all intricate epic sounding songs. Of course in 2005 when we learn that Beltrami's second pass on the work didn't include Thyme it would indicate that guy probably heard a disk after Beltrami's second session of work....

anyway im rambling

Crazzzzy good. Those screams. I think that was The General too. That drum beat is the same

I'm more sure of the opening words to the screaming part than any other bit.

Thing is iv'e spent so fucking long toying with EQ's and stem splitting it into bit's i'm not even sure if i can gauge how close or far i am  anymore. I got it a bit after Evader did, & I think I started messing with it in either 2013 or 14

When i put the video out, i will write in some of the words I hear as they happen in the clip but not all of them. Some of the vocals in the quieter hip hop loop parts i'll just leave blank because I want to know what other perople hear (if anything)

Thankfully i dont hear of any children being chained to a bed.

But "There's no escaping now, down in the Fucking ground"

For me this jam in rehersal:

I used that clip to make an extended version of that jam, I like it, if it's not Oklahoma I hope it turns into something.

Now I can hear the drum beat without frank pausing and I hear it looped, i'm pretty sure that this is The General, the drum beat is very close to the version heard in the cell phone clip. It's not exactly the same but it seems like its franks version of someone elses drum beat. Close but not the same, with his own spin on it.

I will be very interested to see if this gets sound checked again soon and if anyone can record it if it does.

I initially thought this jam was The General as well, in the earlier leaked clip (https://sndup.net/h9cx/) the chords reminded me of the intro played before the concerts. Then when I first heard the clip posted above I thought maybe not, it's a little too different in style, but what you've done here just confirms it. That is almost a complete match for what Brain is playing in the cellphone clip, just with a different spin from Frank as you said.

Thanks man, you think that confirms it wait untill you hear the next video lol. I'm fairly convinced of some of the words from the work I have done on this clip on and off over the years. If I include them in the video i'm sure everyone will think i'm wrong but fuck it.

At least some of them are right........probably

I think they were combined at one point as one song (Thyme has orchestration), and they were both due to appear on the second album, possibly as the first song.

I hear that Beltrami's second session of work didn't include Thyme. If they intended to use it (which it seems like they did from what you say) then they must of been happy with his initial work. Perhaps it didn't require more work like the other 3 did because it was just an intro, if you line them up it's quite hard to make the two work as anything other than an intro or extended outro like Prossy had.

The PRL/Thyme thing dates back to 2000. At that point, there were two albums for release. Around 2006 there were three albums due for release, despite there being 2 and a half albums worth of material. They were to be released 2 years apart, then there were plans afoot for a reunion, but I'm not sure Axl was ever aware of this, or if it was driven by him. I don't know. It was supposed to happen on the 25th anniversary of afd

Beltrami told someone on my site years ago that Seven was based on the movie of the same name.

The movie thing I did know from somewhere I guess that's why some people call it Se7en. There's a bit of a repeating theme from songs back then about killers CITR,Zodiac,

Did Beltrami tell you anything about any guest appearances on The General from a female singer? There were reports of it in 2003 on a few sites, though seems largely forgotten by the fanbase. Sarah Brightman, Andrew Lloyd Webbers ex wife.

Good to see you here!

Has anyone come up with an explanation of how “Thyme” and “PRL” fit together?

I think they were combined at one point as one song (Thyme has orchestration), and they were both due to appear on the second album, possibly as the first song.
