I don't think it sounds much like Thriller any more than "Liar" kinda rhymes with "Thriller". The chords don't sound similar to me, neither does the riff melody.

Just sounds like people being dicks because they don't like the song.

It's the truth he's telling, but it's never the big picture. It's just one mans side of a situation that went down. Ask someone else, the manager for example, the core is still there, but the twist would be entirely different. And that's how it is with humans

I like the solo because it is uniquely Slash's sound, but the primary riffs in the song are definitely post-grunge.

I've made up my mind on this track it sounds generic. You wouldn't even know it was a slash song it sounds like a Shinedown b-side.

You are terribly wrong. I can always tell if it's Slash playing. Every GN'R should BTW. His playing is so unique like nobody else's.
