The remix stuff doesn't excite me greatly, it's fine but I can't too excited over hearing a reworked Better. Going Down on the other hand I'm really enjoying, it's refreshing to hear such an organic and simple track from them, no synth or 8 different guitar layers at once just a simple rock track with a nice chorus. It gives me hope for what else may be in the vault!

Perhaps I've missed this among the posts but are we assuming Goin Down is a final mix or a an alt/remix like the rest of the tracks that have leaked?

Only heard Going Down once but I liked it, like others have said it felt like an organic song rather than something pulled together on a computer.

Was going to post this myself, was weird to see DJs name in headline news!
Bit of a none story overall though, it sits somewhere between microphones being nicked by security and stolen bicycles on my snooze o meter.

I never really took his 02 singing voice to be his only voice, just that he didn't have the confidence or control over his raspy voice in a live setting to use it too frequently. In a studio he could stand still and sing a line as many times as he liked until it was right, you can't do that in front of 20,000 people so he went with what he felt was a safer more reliable option vocally.
What I find interesting is that everybody involved in the project suggests the songs changed very little from 01/02 up to release, whether that's vocally or musically, excluding a few minor additions from Ron & Fortus etc. If that was the case why did it all fall apart in 06? The timing was right, the momentum was behind the band, clearly the songs changed very little between then and 08, that was the time to drop CD and yet for whatever reason they choked and the same album was released two years later with no momentum behind it to a world that'd lost interest. Had it dropped in 06 I think CD and GNR would have been a bigger animal.

Hmmm, having never tried to search for child porn I can't really comment on how difficult it is to find but I'd always assumed (perhaps wrongly) that you had to be a bit more creative than typing a few choice words in to google. That said I have no problem with a clamp down paedophilic content on the net if it's do-able. Like others have said though I don't know if that's the real problem. Are people turning into peadophiles by watching it on the net or are they paedophiles anyway and the net gives them an avenue for their desires?

I completely agree. After I posted this info, I took a step back and realized it may be a little too soon for this kind of movie. I would love at least a sequel to Man of Steel establishing more of the core universe and character development. Then have Batman & Superman come in a few years later and have it work much better in terms of plot, pace, and not having to explain a whole lot either. It makes more sense especially after hearing certain reactions from the press & fans. I don't want this to be a brawl vs. movie either. Having to see which one is the better hero. That is a terrible idea. They need to establish their friendship and have them team up to maybe bring down a Lex with another bigger villain combo. Sure they can argue or maybe get into a small confrontation similar to the encounters in Avengers; but no elseworld Dark Knight Returns fight making either of them to off as a pride hungry douche bag. Which shouldn't be their character traits to begin with in this film universe. I want this succeed and me and others have wanted this for a long time. They just need to do it properly and not rush it. Finding a new Batman shouldn't be that hard. I'm going to miss not having Bale as the caped crusader; but I guess it's time to move forward. I think Levitt would be appropriate for this transition; but if it's another guy that's fine.
I know what you mean, give them chance to tell Superman's story first before you rope in Batman etc. They managed to tell the Batman story pretty well without other superheroes joining in and that did pretty ok at the box office. By getting Batman involved in film 2 of the MOS films it almost looks like they don't have confidence that it can be a success on it's own without playing the ace up their sleeve. Marvel teased the Avengers for about 5 years across 4/5 films before it happened. This looks like they're going to blow their load the first chance they get.
If they go with Levitt it links to the TDK trilogy which could pose a few continuity problems. When is the film supposedly set, everyone thinks Batman is dead, is this his first reappearance or is it known he's back? Not to mention that Nolan's Batman, be it Bale or Levitt is at the end of it all just a guy in a suit, he can be as tough as you like but in a one on one fight against Superman there's only one winner. It may be better if they sever ties with the TDK completely for the sake of moving any Batman/Superman tale they want to tell forward. Also, that way if they do fuck it up they haven't harmed the TDK trilogy

Precisely, I see her as just carrying out Axl's wishes. Great for Axl, finally a manager who does what he wants. I just fear if Axl fancies another 5 years of touring behind CD or just general hibernation she'll go along with it.
