Looking at the video, I'm kinda relieved they didn't released it. They should've released it as an alternate to a more professional version.
yea even compared to SCoM it looks cheap & lazy. compared to NR/Estranged???
Compared to Yesterdays, Garden of Eden (both filmed on the same day) and even Dead Horse, this looks amateurish.
I won't compare it to the big ones, though, it would be a massacre.

Also: I looked into parent directories and found some interesting stuff, including alternate versions of the video!

#785 Re: Guns N' Roses » Axl's net worth....Article Sept 2012 » 713 weeks ago
can anyone point me to a thread that addresses the financials of the band? or provide the info here? i am looking for the following:
1. who owns their back catalog?
1A. if someone asks about using a song in a movie/commercial/etc., who has final say?
2. was there an equal split of their profits back in the day? (i thought i read that Axl got 40% based on songs written or something.)
3. Was the original deal with Geffen much better than the typical deal? and if so, does Axl deserve credit for that?
1. who owns their back catalog?
Axl, Slash and Duff aka Guns N' Roses Music. Axl reportedly sold his part on the publishing earnings to Sanctuary but kept intelectual property (see 1A)
1A. if someone asks about using a song in a movie/commercial/etc., who has final say?
Guns N' Roses Music (see 1), and it needs to be approved by all three members.
2. was there an equal split of their profits back in the day? (i thought i read that Axl got 40% based on songs written or something.)
Actual figures changed album after album, but Axl had nearly 40%, I don't remeber the exact amount for each of them.
3. Was the original deal with Geffen much better than the typical deal? and if so, does Axl deserve credit for that?
According to Duff's book, the deal was pretty usual, but they had a lot of lawyers looking into the contract for them - an initiative by Axl, yes - that prevented them from losing the rights to the songs to the record company. Also, the deal was renegotiated after Appetite exploded, leading to LIES release. The deal was once again renegotiated for UYI, adding the infamous lines giving Axl the rights to the name. After Slash quit, deal was renegotiated and there has been several renegotiations since then.
#786 Guns N' Roses » Axl & Billy Corgan? Who would you like to see Axl collaborate with? » 713 weeks ago

Based on this tweet by Billy Corgan:
"I think @axlrose is one of the best rock singers, ever. Period. Would be honored to write a song with him."
https://twitter.com/Billy/statuses/244562912633552897
I started thinking who would be fun and explosive to have Axl to collaborate and write songs.
I came with 5 writers.
Doyle Bramhal II (Played with Roger Waters, Sheryl Crow, Clapton... could be a great source of blues based solos and melodies)
Fiona Apple (Would kill to see Axl collaborate with a woman on a duet of some kind)
Tom Petty (and Mike Campbell - they write great harmonies and song structures, would be great to have Axl come up with melodies and lyrics to that kind of laid back southern rock for a change)
Jack White (not because of the Bridge benefit, but the "traditional weirdness" Jack brings to the table could bring some interesting things out of Axl)
Trent Reznor (yes, I think they could collaborate. I think Trent's music lacks that larger than life feeling sometimes, that Axl could bring with melodies and some lyrics. I'm a fan of both of them, so this could be a guilty pleasure
)
And what about you, who would you like to see partnering with Axl?

On the Bridge School benefit video announcement, there's also a band pic...
Is this the start of a new era?

How this festival occurs? Bands play their full set or like in farm aid only a couple of songs?

Russ, you gotta see that you're always positive!
You were positive about Euro tour and I now you're having the same attitude, which is great, and I'm sure you're gonna have a blast of a time there, but think about it:
Isn't this the kind of attitude that enables Axl to keep on this circus for so long?

I'm expecting very little, to be honest... Perhaps a more laid back set, like the weddings or the UCAP tour with a few songs thrown in, that haven't been played yet or in a long time, such as My Michelle, Think About You, Outta Get Me, perhaps we get to finally hear Perfect Crime, perhaps we get to have Izzy and another round of 14 Years and maybe Dust N' Bones (altough I doubt it, since it's a Slash and Duff song as well, that Axl had no input, differently from 14Y).
Perhaps on one of the nights off we get some rare stuff from CD - I'm thinking Scraped, Prostitute - and Oh My God.
This is my BEST CASE scenario.
