#781 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Mike Monroe reminisces on time with Guns » 949 weeks ago
I think Michael Monroe has one of the best rock vocals in the history of rock...period! I'm serious. It's not an Axl or Sebastian type of power in his pipes but a good "bar-sleazy" raw sound that just works perfectly for the type of music we all love. I don't know much about Hanoi Rocks but he had a couple of solo albums that kicked ass. "Not Fakin It" is a MUST for anyone who loves good rock n' roll. The version he and Slash did of Magic Carpet Ride on the Coneheads soundtrack kicks some major ass and Ain't It Fun (imo) is far and away the best song off of TSI. Michael fucking ROCKS!!

Thanks - that means a lot.
And I do feel welcome, I really do.
Just remember it is the people who make up a great site, not the name...I took a little time off at ROV mainly due to sickness in the family so I didn't really know you from there but I can GUARANTEE you are most certainly welcome here and if you ever need anything pm me and if I can help consider it done.

Chicken or tuna?
Both...grind them up and add some relish, pave it onto some bread and eat, drink, drink some more and be happy.

A new book based on late ALICE IN CHAINS singer Layne Staley's last five years of reclusive life in downtown Seattle is scheduled for release in late 2008. Entitled "Itch, Love Stories about Heroin", the book "will reveal some secrets about the singer, as well as offer an inside look at his addiction and struggles with heroin," according to a press release.
"It will be a struggle to finish the book," author Tanya Vece said. "It will be like closing a chapter on his life, and mine '” not for good but I think saying what he would want to have said."
According to the press release, "Staley did call in an interview to Vece's friend author Adriana Rubio about a month before his passing. Weak and coughing, Staley wasn't ready to comment on his reclusive life, but did talk briefly about his fight with drugs."
"Everyone knows he was addicted," Vece stated. "I want to talk about who he was, and get to the real Layne '” addiction and art."
When asked on her connection to Staley, Vece said "Let me just say there are some things I won't expand on '” some things even I will keep secret!"
Tanya Vece is the current editor of independent art e-zine The Horse Chronicles. She has three other fictional independent books out and is an honoree of the International Press Academy. Her recent accomplishments include press coverage through CNN for the Democratic debate in Las Vegas.

That would be fucking fantastic Slinger. I wish I had more rarities to contribute but the only things I have are Blind Melon demos, which tend to be in low demand. Haha.
If all goes well I should have it uploaded by tonight or tomorrow morning. I have some other rare AIC stuff I'll add later on down the road as well.
By the way CC...there's nothing wrong with Blind Melon. That could have been a great group, Shannon was a big loss.
