I don't know about making the cut for Chinese (trying to think of where it would go in the sequence), but I think this would be a good opening track for another disc...or a good 'side' opener on a LP. A great way to kick off a record.

I swear I have a 6th sense. "Yeah, I haven't' been on the forums for months. I bet something is happening. Yup! Aw, the links are down."

I think you're making a mountain out of a mole-hill.
He's fucking with his in-ear monitor - which was a relatively new thing at the time, and was always bothering him, and they're working on someone else's stage and someone else's setup. This isn't an artistic space. This is a "can I fucking hear myself" and "can anyone fucking hear me" space. Rehearsals and soundchecks aren't artistic spaces.

Chicken Dinner leak cover:
http://chinadigitaltimes.net/wp-content … /guns3.gifThat was made by Live Free aka Brodie. The guy that had the song.
Yup, Brodie. Wouldn't surprise me that he found that artwork and included it. He's a visual kind of guy.
I used to talk to him all the time (about things not GNR related too) and then we got disconnected. Miss him.

If the 1.4 gig file was ripped from Youtube, that makes sense. It looked like @#$% compared to what it should be. Was probably in some weird early 2000s spec and got trans-coded. I mean I wasn't expecting HD video but it reminded me of RealVideo or WMV from back in the day. That's neither here nor there.
Axl's body language was of a guy who had been away for 7 or 8 years. Which is what he was.
To put this in perspective, GNR was only a touring band for 6 years at that point. He had more life experience living as a millionaire out of the spotlight than he did as a guy going on tour and doing gigs.

An actual new song hasn't been leaked when all this stuff started to happen.
So whoever has tracks, my bet is they'll be holding on to them.
You raise some really interesting points. It makes me think our old friend MSL is behind these leaks.
The guy is an athlete. He engineered the release of "Chicken Dinner" ("Shackler's Revenge") during the 2008 summer Olympics. This time, we got leaks during the 2018 World Cup. I don't think that is just a coincidence.
As you say, what will be telling is if we get an entirely new leak - something we haven't heard, or maybe even never heard of - some time leading up to the 10th anniversary of the release of Chinese Democracy. If so, that could suggest that we have a second benefactor working on behalf of all the fans. If not, we can just tip our hats in the general direction of whatever wrestling ring in which Mister is engaged in combat!
I never believed that story.

I didn't expect 1.) the album proper to sound much different, 2.) them to keep the dynamic sound. I did notice that the My Michelle intro is clearer compared to my vintage CD. I'd have to suspend judgement for getting the real discs.
At some point those Blu-rays will be ripped apart and people will be releasing the 5.1 channel separated audio - I have a feeling. That should be interesting. Not quite audio stems, but close.
I hope someone posts a rip of that 'secret' cassette.
Is there any software that does that? I'll have it up in an hour if so.
Blu-ray can be complicated. MakeMKV might be a place to start.

Street Of Dreams/The Blues sounds like how... I wanted it to sound on Chinese. (Leak quality/mix quality/etc. not withstanding).
Oh My God intrigues me. But was this like a learner mix or just meant to help evaluate Ron's guitar parts? Everything on one channel, him on another? It's weird. I'd be interested in a proper mix of this or if they put something like this on a box set at sometime.
Out of all the 'remixes', in my opinion, the TIL remix is the most interesting and most worthwhile - at least of the leaks. I think the new vocals raise my interest and make the thing fit together.
The best If The World remix is still the Buddyhead version. I actually have that in my Chinese Democracy folder.
It's cool to finally have that HOB show. What took these people so long?
