Oh yeah and one aside about closing in on you
"This isn't like Closing In On You, which was obvious bullshit to anyone with a brain who listened to it."
yeah that is what people said about better when it first leaked out lol
Also closing it on you came from velvet rope which was a forum for insiders and didnt post fake GNR stuff. Closing in on never came from a GNR source. So if it was fake, that person who had it, didnt know it was fake.

I don't know what to think about crocodile video that goes along with the song. It doesn't fit, just weird choice
its probably just a place holder, they will probably have a real video next tour

There you go Axl again with your nonsense. why do you have to keep being s dishonest?'
Its not semantics about what he heard vs seeing evidence what he heard is legit. Not sure why you are so stuck on this.
Dark never said he didn't hear something from Rick, he said he didn't see any evidence if they were legit or not.
No its not different than Closing in on you. Its just goes to what Dark was talking about. People fake stuff all the time and claim its GNR. There are fan remixes of songs out there too and ones with fake vocals on it claiming to be GNR.
its even harder to figure out if its legit over the phone as well.
its just so weird you wont let this guy when here is zero evidence dark has ever hoarded anything but you do know who does hoard things so you should maybe focus your engergy on those people instead.
"I understand the point that hearing on the phone isn't 100% certain proof, he pointed out the same in his conversation with us a few years ago, but he was also pretty confident it sounded legit."
Oh so now you are admit Dark even said over the phone he was not 100% certain, yet you are still going on and on about this lol
He didnt lie to you, you just admitted he siad the same thing back as he is saying now. The only one lying here is you
Thanks for provign I was right about you and how full of crap you are. And now I know why you didnt post what he said back then in full context bc Dark is saying the same thing now he said back then.
He heard something on the phone but coudl not prove it was gnr 100% .
Good job wasting everyones time on this
Oh yeah as for not knowing Dark. I have met Dark in person, so nice try.

My thoughts after some further listening including the live version.
Whilst they are serviceable, they are just not very good songs. They sound dated and the Velvet Revolver/early 2000's comparisons are a good shout. Slash's soloing is a little more inspired but still a far cry from his heyday.
I miss the old sound - but it's pretty evident that Izzy is needed for that. Ironically Appetite/Lies sound is far more intricate/complex than these supposed 'epics'.It was always going to be hard to live up to the hype I guess. I also have to weigh in behind those who say it is a very heavy topic to have for a song you 'enjoy'. I commend Axl for bringing it to the surface as an artist - I guess I imagined it would be presented in a more abstract/poetic way perhaps. It is very confronting and possibly the more powerful for it - but as far as a GN'R song that I can enjoy, maybe I have to be in the right frame of mind.
As I've mentioned before, I hope they both have a more distinct ending - they just seem to whimper out.
Monsters, I think is marginally better.
That is why I want to hear the BH and Robin verisons.
I like what Slash did on Monsters, but id love to hear what it used to be
I do wonder if both songs were longer but got cut down.

Hopefully it wasn’t just elephant sounds. He had some killer solos like with Tonto, and others were just absent any kind of real solo. Really odd
You can hear BHs SR solo very faintly on the stems, cant you?
The only BH solo I didnt like on any of the CD sessions was the Riad one. Its like he didnt even try on that one. Rons is even worse. Riad needs a better solo

I’d say Devious Bastard might predate him and he jumped on it, but not sure. Would love to hear a mashup mix with Dummy and Inside Out
I read that Prom Violence, together with shankler and D Tune were combined into shacklers, so I would guess those three are BH songs
Prom violence was pretty clearly used in Shacklers. This is the first I’ve heard of DTune. Not sure I hear that
yeah you can def hear parts of prom violence in shacklers
I would stil love to hear the SR version before Ron re-did some of the parts
It would probably sound even more like Prom

No disappointment will ever match Dave’s disappointment over Prostitute
ha ha
I still was way more disappointed with this I love
But after hearing Sorry and Prostitute I knew not to listen to Baz anymore

Dark will more than likely try and sniff out if you legit have music, then figure out a way to get that music. That’s really all we can say because this argument is going nowhere
I tried to get music but couldn’t get them to bite. Anyone who has managed to get music from hoarders like dark has, and who are a million times worse than however awful you think dark is, gets my respect
Yeah its sad that dark is getting this treatment when he has always shared the songs he gets from hoarders and never hoarders anything yet people like MSL and Walker who we know have hoarded stuff in the past are are probably still doing it now are getting off scott free.
