I was going to say Bucket is all over CD.

Reading over this thread, I had no idea the hoarders had CD2 since 2008.  I always assumed it was from 2012 on.

I just read this article and it mentions a song I haven't seen anyone talk about, maybe one of the other unknown songs that were recorded during the sessions. If real Axl had done a collaboration with Joe Strummer from the Clash before he passed away.

If I remember right Janky Holocaust was a hoax.

Weirdly a fake leak of Thyme in 2008 that got bundled in with all the other fakes has an odd coincidence to it. It was meant to be by a band called decoder and the song was called All I Ever Wanted.

The title lines up with a song name from the engel & engel paperwork that leaked years later. Anyone remember this?

Isn't Bucket's Shackler solo basically inaudible?

I believe you can hear it buried in the guitar multitrack but it's been years since I listened

Been trying to get these for years, The DAT tapes were taken from the trunk of his car while he was in hospital and taken to Canada.

FBI files make for some interesting reading https://vault.fbi.gov/eric-wright-easy-e-ez-e

I always wondered if the GN'R songs were on those tapes and that interview a bit back sort of confirmed it. Slash and Duff were on the songs according to Ruthless Records paperwork, there's a few press releases where it's mentioned actually.

It was meant to come out May 11th 1993

Yellow Brick Road To Compton was one. I used to hear rumblings about a song called Apocolypse and a third was this with Slash on

I can only go by what the people who heard that have claimed but the general theme was these songs were being played to gauge what could be a decent first single.

And then they decided, bafflingly, to go with Chinese Democracy but not whip up a radio edit that got rid of the minute-long ambient intro.

Yep, the song itself is a logical choice but having the intro on there for a single was not a good idea. If they were played songs that could be singles I suspect they were played Hardschool too, I love the locker leaks version but even that had too long an intro for a single tbf

Way back in April 2008 people on Cd.com were talking about how a DJ on Krock105.5 spoke about how industry people were being played 6 songs. I can only go by what the people who heard that have claimed but the general theme was these songs were being played to gauge what could be a decent first single.

This was also spoken about by eonline a few days later http://www.eonline.com/gossip/planetgos … cd304270b5

It's obviously possible that these people were played songs in person for security reasons and not allowed to keep them. However these were industry people who were hardly going to risk there jobs and reputation by being careless with sampler discs before the album had come out.

If it's true that some songs switched back and forth from CD1 to CD2 then any of those 6 track sampler CD's (again if they exist) could have at least a song or two that wound up being kept over for CD2 on them.

I have way too much time on my hands to think about this stuff lol.

AI isn't there yet but it will be at some point, fan remixes take a lot more time without AI than I think they will with it. You only need to ask Evader how many hours he plunged into his version on The general. If AI speeds it up there will be more and the fanbase will be flooded.

I'm very much looking forward to being able to, for example, feed an AI the demo version of Hardschool and the released Hard Skool, and saying, "Replace the drums on the finished version with the drums from the demo." Or "Replace the vocals on This I Love with the ones from the remix, dial up the orchestra a fraction and replace the solo with Slash's live version from Orlando 2016." We're not far off being able to do that sort of thing.

I know, it will get to that point. There will be a lot of fan remixes appearing in the next year I expect.

Freese's isolated drums from Hardschool are insane, so is the TIL accapella

I'm amazed that some people don't believe these songs are actually out there.

On the other hand...a bit understandable I suppose since this stuff has been rarely talked about in the reunion era...also the fact the majority of these hoarders finally stepped away from the forums.

Out of sight, out of mind.

Otto has a pretty good summary above.

Now there's a blast from the past!

While I didn't post there much, I miss those days....

HTGTH
mygnr
ROV/Evo
CD.com
newgnr
newguns
GNR Strip
GNR Source
GNR2k

More that I'm not remembering off the top of my head.

There were so many GNR fans online back then that all those forums were really active....until they weren't.

It still blows me away that out of all those forums back in the day, only 3 still exist.

I probably lurked at all those , Lourenco's site GNRsucks as well, there were loads back then.

I think some people feel there isn't stuff out there simply because they feel it would have leaked by now. But things can always be discovered, like those DAT tape's some guy had in his garage with Machine Gun and Toothpuller on. I think there's probably more in the hands of a few than people reallize.

I don’t think AI will diminish the value of real leaks any more than fan remixes or recreations of songs (like “The General”) have done so.

But further contraction of the economy might make some people willing to share what they have for money.

It would have to be done without the nonsense that investors experienced in 2019 when trying to buy the storage locker songs. As the saying goes, “No Chicanery!”

But if we got some real evidence of what is “out there” — at minimum a few clips,  the CD2 cover art and booklet — I am sure some level-headed investors could pool their resources and make it worth someone’s while.

Looking across this thread and the lack of enthusiasm across other sites/Reddit, someone could emerge as a real hero right now!

Very good point about the economy though

Just hoping something comes to fruition. It sounds like people know people who have tracks, or know people that know people. As someone else pointed out, those who have the tracks probably couldn’t give two shits about them. I’m sure with a concerted push in the right direction some music could be forthcoming

Thing is for anyone who has that stuff they probably feel it's value is about to crash through the floor.

I don't think anyone saw this speed or improvement in AI coming. It's like a sharp cliff edge the music industry is getting closer to and now it feels like we are running to it.

Sucks to speak in mercenary terms, but if someone has for example CD2 or The General it's pretty safe to say they won't trade it for other songs. Because what else is out there of equal value? Nothing (& i don't mean the song)

That instead limits them to the financial route and due to AI it will be far easier very soon for people to fake unreleased material.

More importantly it will be far harder for someone who actually has something to prove that what they have is actually real. I mean how do they prove it? send more clips in a trade? That would simply increase the likelyhood of leaks.

Again it sucks to think of these things in mercenary terms but I would imagine someone in that position would feel time was running out, and I think they would be right to think that.

Places like Leaked.CX that are about genre's that have even more of a culture of trading are all about to change. This shit is uncharted territory.
