#801 Re: Guns N' Roses » GnR @ RIR 2008? » 950 weeks ago

Mysteron is legit but ANY of us could pretty much be just as accurate on the "information" he provides.  He only tells you what you already know if you have even the smallest hint of an intellect.

"Guns N' Roses will not be at Rock in Rio this year" - wow, imagine that.

"The band are sorting out stuff with the record label.  Once that is done, lots of cool things will then happen" ....ahhh, those key words "once" and "then".

Here's Gunslinger-on's shot at it:

"Gunslinger will not be banging Scarlett Johansson this year"

"'Slinger is currently in negotiations with her trying to convince Scarlett that it woud be in her (and his) best interest to give up the "prize".  Once that happens all kinds of cool things will happen...the economy will flourish, the war will end and Chinese Democracy will debut at #1 and sell a trillion copies"

Just as legitimate but total bullshit.

It was a really good series.  Last time I watched that show I came away missing the simplicity of being a kid and what it's liike that one time in your life when things really are magic.  Great writing made the Wonder Years a cut above.  It definitely is different watching it now than it was when we were kids ourselves, well done show.

Stand By Me (the Stephen King movie) has that same sort of effect on me.  Great writing that makes you wish you could go back to that magic time again.

^I'm hoping for just delayed.  I'd gladly pay to see STP AND Tesla...those guys fuckin' rock, I've seen them twice and I'm talking from experience.

#805 Re: Guns N' Roses » Picture of Axl I have never seen before. What year is it from? » 950 weeks ago

I haven't seen that one either, nice find.  I'd guess 99, he looks just a little younger than he did at the HOB (the few pics I've seen anyway) but the hair is similar so I think that would be a decent ballpark guess.

#806 Re: The Sunset Strip » Sebastian Bach - I am Skid Row » 950 weeks ago

Both sides are being assholes, of course he contributed and of course they contributed and in the end it took the whole package to make Skid Row kick ass...end of story.

Do you mean not at the level of GN'R, AIC, Megadeth in terms of quality or in terms of popularity?

We'd have to go with popularity, otherwise opinions would dictate who was or wasn't "at that level".   There are some great groups that I would consider on the same level as those "A groups" I mentioned but just for the sake of making it easier we will go with popularity.

Since GNR have given us nothing to talk about as of late I thought I would return the favor with an official "Nothing Thread".  16  We'll make this the place to "dump" whatever is (or isn't) on your mind.  When you feel like performing "forum flatulence", this is the place!!  I'll "rip" the first one off.

My girlfriend wanted to watch a chick movie last night...last night was her "turn" to pick.  My guess was it would be one of the good old "Evil Man"/"Battered Wife-Victim"/"Abused Child", etc etc Lifetime-type of movies.  The ones you just sit back and drink as much as possible during.  She picked "Good Luck Chuck"...not too bad of a comedy.  Most notably Jessica Alba looked HOT and there was a teenie-weenie-ever so slight, side-view of her tits.  Ok not much, but better than nothing!  I escaped a chick-flick night!

This thread is now the "Underrated" bands thread.  Any band that you think should have got more credit than they did/have so far.

Who do you think deserves much more credit than they get?

For me one that comes to mind is Bush.  They were never really on the A-list but I liked some of their songs quite a bit.  Everything Zen/Machinehead/Glycerine/Mouth...all great stuff.  Once they got to songs like The Chemicals Between Us I abandoned ship but those previously mentioned songs kicked ass!

Candlebox definitely would be on this list for me as well.

This one is going to come as a shock to everyone (hell, I shocked myself) but I would say Axl.  The reason is he doesn't waiver on his vision, whether that be for better or worse.  I don't always agree with him and I certainly get pissed off at the way he keeps us in the dark but in the end he is true to what he believes in and that counts for something with me.  If Axl wasn't in the band would any of us even give a flying fuck about the new Guns N Roses?
