Did something happen? Am I alive? Who wants a pizza roll? Leave a comment on my webzone. PM me for a pizzaroll.

You'll also notice that MeToo has not even touched the issue of pedophiles/assault on children.
See Nickelodeon and their shady producer.  Check out how many ''teen acts" got start on children shows - Mickey Mouse, Kidz Incorporated. That should be Today show material every day of the week, just like the gymnasts.
People like Justin, Spears, Christina... I'm sure there's some stories. Show-biz parents and Hollywood, a bad combination for singers, too.

I hope they get some light. There was a fantastic documentary that got buried.
That actor from Glee that committed suicide because he was going to go to jail for child porn? Would you be surprised if it wasn't suicide?

I'm also betting there's a whole lot of MeToo types that don't want to say MeToo because that would expose them as someone who traded sex favors for roles. Nobody wants to get in front of that line. "Yes, I sold myself and it turned out pretty good, as I type this from my mansion." Remember 'the fappening' that happened a few years ago, all those pictures of celebs that got 'hacked' from iCloud or iPhones? What if only ONE phone was hacked, and it was, say, Harvey's phone? Hmmm.

There's plenty of negative stories about rockstars. Axl beats women, etc. I'm sure some underage girls were involved.

You know the whole "grab them by the pussy" controversy with Trump?
My first reaction was "Yeah, I bet that worked 80% of the time" because I've heard/read too many stories about groupies and women around famous/rich/semi-famous people, whether actors, musicians, or wrestlers. I guess I'm cynical.

There's no sense of space or ambiance. Slash might as well be overdubbing his guitars on the moon. It's so dry.

Axl's vocals are either up to 10 or inaudible underneath the drums or guitar. I feel like I'm listening to a backing track.

Edit: I admit I might be crazy.

Well, I'll say this, the mix on the broadcast was shit. Reminds me of that AOL stream (Rio?) back in 2006.

Back in 1999 there were lots of CDRs with both audio (wav/dat) and mp3 files. Of course, if you wanted to record with a mic, the most common way was still an analog tape (I had one when I was in college by that time to record interviews), but to rip other CDs there were already plenty of options using a PC with both mp3 or just copying the CD to a CDR. Sure, a line in recording probably would be either a MiniDisc, but the cassette tape wasn't that common either.

I agree with you, the 99 demos had too much hiss and analog distortion, hence why I always felt it was recorded on tape. But someone said the 99 demos were recorded from a DAT tape, and Im not sure how someone would rip audio from that back then.

Sure, people had CD-R and RW drives on their *computers*. And the MP-Man was only released in the States in July 1998. That's the first portable MP3 player. You're overestimating what the 'average' person had in 1999. People were still making mix tapes. If I have a CD and a computer, sure, I could rip it. If I'm at a party, I can't.

The later demos we got were *certainly* ripped from CDs/CD-Rs, most likely with iTunes (unfortunately).

Likely they had a DAT as one piece of equipment on a audio rack connected to a switcher/line-in to atape deck. Or just a line-in and line-out and some RCA cables. Everything had analog in and analog out.

IE: something like this?

I think he ruined everything he was on that we can compare to an older cut of the song without him.

His mindless noodle on CD the song, do nothing for me, like I said i prefer the first leak from 2006 with that synth melody instead of his shitty guitar fills.

the thing that is missing the most from CD the song is teh wah wah wah thing BH did at the HOB show

Chinese, The Blues, and CITR all certainly seemed to have 'lost' something from some of our POV compared to how we experienced the songs at first.

For Chinese, I really enjoyed the distorted riff that comes out of nowhere and then the synth flourish that proceeds the drums.
It came out of nowhere. We got a taste of it during these first shows and also the Boston radio ad.

And then? They did that guitar tease live. Then we had a leak of that minutes-long introduction. The riff starting and stopping.

I missed how the thing started and then kicked in your teeth.

The Blues also lost it's teeth. It was a up tempo radio friendly ballad. Like...Train. Or something else! Then it got slowed way down into mini-November Rain territory. It didn't need to go there. Sure, they never played it as fast as RIR, but it got painfully slower year after year.

And Catcher.... maybe they had to conjure and splice that Brian May solo out of thousands of feet of outtakes, but damn that was melodic and haunting and the synth had room to breathe. Even in that analog recording we got. I could hum and air guitar that solo all day long. I still don't know what BBF is doing on the record version. The song got strangled.

I would very much like to hear more of these.

Someone had a comment about tape being out of date when these were first leaked - not exactly.

The most convenient form of recording sound and taking it somewhere else was still a cassette tape. Unless you had a MiniDisc recorder (remember those?). Ain't nobody had a MP3 player with a line in encoder, and if you did, it sounded like @#$%. Cars still had cassette decks (and CDs!) - and you were happy yours did, because you could connect your iPod with a tape adapter, and that sounded way better than the FM tuner your friend with JUST the CD player had to have.

The first leaks all - whatever the source, strip club CD, record label CD, band insider CDR - were put to some tape and then put back on a computer later. There's too much hiss and analog distortion on IRS 99, Twat 99, CITR, and (IRS?). OR maybe they were put into an analog out and then into an analog in on a MiniDisc. That's the best case. This latest file was definitely digital all the way to us. A good hi-fi system back in the day always had a CD player and a couple of tape decks. Remember that. That would have still been contemporary during the ol' leaks.

Did somebody say leaks?

There's a possibility that Axl thought he was paid years ago.

Saw 'Blair Witch' (which was just... upsetting...) and included was a trailer for the latest Resident Evil movie.

I didn't know what movie it was at first, but Paradise City is played pretty predominantly.

What made it interesting to me is that they had access to a multi-track master. This is pretty standard for movie trailers - make an instrumental section, do a hard cut of the music and do a sound bridge with the vocals, etc - they fade the music out almost completely in parts and have Axl's vocals isolated.

It sounds... pretty awesome. (Especially 1:25 on)

If there's a DTS version of this trailer out there the music is likely separated from the movie dialogue and sound effects.

....I wish we would have had a GNR 'Rockband' game/DLC....
