Izzy's music isn't the kind of thing that's going to surprise you, but I always dig it.

Ha.  Maybe I'm the only one who digs Joe's singing.  That said, a lot of my favorite Stones songs are ones Keef sings, so it's not huge dymamics I look for in my singers.

What's even more remarkable is a woman like Carol has had it rough and lost her entire family, and she hasn't lost her path, and still seems very rooted in reality.

I'm not sure if that's on purpose or not, but I think it might be.  Carol's life pre-apocolypse sucked already.  For her, life now is just continuing to trudge through the shit she was already trudging through.

Maybe I'm giving the writers too much credit for that though.

Shame to hear that after not releasing an album in so long, a new Aerosmith album is being called very average by listeners...

I still wanna check this out though!

I could see that feeling, but when you think about it, how many bands put out an album most people would consider even average 39 years after they started?

I love the Stones, but I would say they have many more turds in their discography than Aerosmith does.  It's something that most always comes with longevity.

Really, I think some of these songs could have been hits when they were having hits 20-ish years ago...  but it's not 20 years ago anymore.  There's not really any people clamoring for a throwback to that time for them, most Aerosmith fans want a throwback to 35 years ago.  Even those of us who were too young to witness it at the time.

Saw Goddamn Gallows and Jayke Orvis a couple weeks ago, haven't listened to much else except for a slight detour to check out the new Aerosmith album since.  Definitely not for everybody, but if one person gets turned onto it, then awesome.

It's interesting, but they pretty obviously weren't getting along even during that 92 tour with GNR.  That breakup was coming a mile away.  I remember seeing them on Mtv for something, and it was obvious the rest of them were antagonizing him, and he wasn't shy about saying he wasn't happy with the amount of guitar on Angeldust.

Part of me would have really liked to see him on the reunion tours, but a bigger part of me really digs those last couple albums that he isn't on, and I'd bet he wouldn't have been willing to play those songs.

yeah it has some good songs just nothing amazing and a lot of crap.

Still haven't gotten around to listening to this. Is it worth at least putting in the car for a couple of days of driving?

Picked it up off itunes the other day.  It's worth checking out, but don't go in with high expectations.

A buddy of mine said he got bored before it was over, that didn't happen to me, but I listened to it in 3 different installments.

I'm sure everyone who wants the album has already acquired it, but I wanted to mention that Amazon tweeted that King Animal is only $3.99 all week.

This is cool, but kinda sucks because I was gonna get the special edition off of itunes.  It seems rough to justify 11 extra dollars for 4 demos and a digital booklet... but I still might.

If you are a hardcore SG fan the demos are worth it.  However, I'm sure they will turn up eventually if you don't want to spend the extra money for 4 demos.

I'm hoping the Best Buy exclusive demos appear.

Just checked, and you can buy the demos individually.  Usually itunes makes their special edition stuff with full album purchase only, but didn't this time.  I'm grabbing those now and considering picking up a hard copy later this week.
