I haven't heard a bad word about the avengers yet, even from people who would never go see that kind of film. Having said that it should be good given the time they've been building to it.

As for tdkr I cannot wait, the new trailor looks awesome! I also think it'll end with Wayne either dying or passing on the mantle to someone else and retiring. I'm leaning towards thinking they may kill him, i think it may end up going back to Dents words about dying a hero.

Don't get why folks get giddy when others try to have a go at Axl's inner circle, how they're relationship is none of our biz but if anything she might actually get the point, I worry about Mrs. Slash and/or Steve's mom for the sake of debate.

On a personal level you're right their relationship is none of our business. In fact on a personal level I suspect Beta and co. helped Axl through some very tough times over the years.

On a professional level I don't think it's unreasonable to question the wisdom of handing over the management of one of the worlds biggest bands to your former maid/adoptive mother.

Great if true, the fact they've been recording is a good sign. No clues as to the substance of the recordings though, if it's just Fortus and Dizzy recording some ideas I'm none too fussed. If the whole band's been together and laying stuff down then that's a great sign imo.

Fantastic interview.

Just goes to show that over all our suspicions over the years haven't been a million miles off.

The reasons for the hatred etc is mostly down to miscommunication, yes man trying to keep Axl happy telling different stories to different people and we end up with two people thinking they are lieing about each other.

The comments regarding Axls 'inner circle' is interesting as well, he clearly feels the same way that most of us always have.

#895 Re: Guns N' Roses » So Back to normal or whatever? » 734 weeks ago

I'm going to see them next month which I'm looking forward to, hopefully Civil War and Estranged stay in the setlist. Everytime they take a touring break they normally come back with a surprise or two (never new music though) so hopefully the Euro tour is no exception.

Ultimately though I think this last week has made me really see that a full reunion is probably never going to happen, not in the way I'd ever envisaged anyway. They're not getting any younger and I've got to say even a full renuion if they're all in their mid 60's doesn't excite me too much, and I don't see it happening any sooner.

Which leaves Axl and the new band, so either be a band and write music together and release it before the window of opportunity and relevence shuts completely or give it up. The 4 year cycle of touring the same songs with a new UYI track thrown in the mix can only go on for so long, new material is the only thing that can sustain new GNR going forward. Sure you can live off the name and continue to tour the old stuff but it's a fine line to tread between enjoying the nostalgia and just being an insult to both the fans you've asked to buy into the new band and the guys up on stage with you.

(I appreciate I sound a bit of a hypocrite saying all that and then buying tickets to see them next month but it's based more on the fact that a) when I saw them 2 years ago the view was so bad it only felt like I got half a show last time and b) I want to hear Estranged live.)

Gilbys looking good, he barely looks any different to how he did in 92.

That's a great pic, makes you think what could have been...

Fair play to Matt, well said. A nice sign off to a crazy weekend!

I don't mind Greenday so I'm not too fussed by this although it isn't an obvious choice. I have a feeling Greenday are GNR fans so that may have played a part.

I agree.

If both sets of management have anything about them they won't let it get to a situation where Axl and Slash are face to face in front of the worlds media and no idea how the other will react.

From a fans point of view just the two of them meeting without external interference from mangers might be what they need. On the other hand knowing how potentially volatile it could be, maybe a pre organised 'handshake' is not such a bad idea.
