#921 Re: Guns N' Roses » Guns N' Roses launching iTunes promotion: 'Ides of March' hint? » 932 weeks ago

They will look like right twats (no pun intended) if they pull SR now, especially after all of the fuss made by Harmonix. To piss Harley D off that maybe one thing, but to threaten a massive stream of revenue from the video gaming industry is another...

This is why those of us who make an effort to get our hands on 'the goods' so to speak tend to do a lot of our communiques through text messages and good old fashioned mobile phone calling back / forth smile

It scares me how twisted and altered a story can get when it passes from one person to the next, especially when it comes to this community.  Its not a bad thing - in fact, I find it rather fascinating - but yes, it does scare me.

Scaring might be a bit of a strong word!

Out of interest do you believe there will be any more (old) leaks from the hoarders before the album is released? Is there much material out there that might never see the light of day that people will hold onto?

Bored of waiting for Chinese Democracy?

Try this book:

It might not be everyone's cup of tea but I'm certainly enjoying it!

#924 Re: The Garden » Robert Williams AFD Lithograph » 934 weeks ago

I thought if buying one of those a while back. Would be cool if you could get some of the original band to sign it

#925 Re: The Sunset Strip » THE WILDHEARTS » 934 weeks ago

I've followed The Wildhearts pretty much from their inception, can't count the number of times I have seen them live. Ginger is an incredible songwriter

If you want something diffrent try Phishing for Luckies.

Otherwise try one of these

Vanilla Radio

#926 Re: Guns N' Roses » GNR, Rock Band, the VMAs and 4 albums » 935 weeks ago

Really, the band would be MAD to release a new song if the album wasn't on the cards for a late 08 release.

I always thought elements of OMG sounded poppy (you know that disco beat and 'wooooo' sound Axl makes) but was also quite hard and upbeat. I hope Schaklers has an upbeat feel to it.

did you guys see this yet?  Its a video where they discuss Shackler's Revenge.  "its a mix of old and new, crazy buckethead solo" ect.

The mention is at about 5:30 into it.

Nice find, Tommie!  karma.

I'm really happy to see other people excited about this - I mean other than us maniacs here.

Favorite part:

"...where does it fit in the challenge of the game? Is it 3 stars, 4 stars?"

"Well... it's um... Axl. So it's about 3 quarters of the way down. It's a hard one"

My other favorite part:

"Oh yeah.... I was just playing it..."

People playing the song with it out in the open hopefully means it'll leak sooner then later.

Its funny...watch a 'gamer' play GH or RB i guess and they sit in their chair quitely focussing on the screen and hitting every note, barely noticing the song. Must..get..high..score...get..to..next..level...complete...game

Watch me play GH and I'm jumpin all over the sofa rocking out and trying my best rock star moves!

I'll probably never get to Shacklers Revenge if I get Rock Band, I'll probably get stuck on 'Let There Be Rock'. Which isn't a bad thing!

Axl is one of the most incredible marketing geniuses of our times. Richard Branson eat your heart out

14 years ago he predicted the Olympics would be in Bejiing and came up with the name 'Chinese Democracy'. With plenty of time to spare he perfected the album and fine tuned his plan. Sure, he lost a few members along the way but it was worth the wait in the end.

How stupid of us not to realise.

#929 Re: Guns N' Roses » Guns N' Roses Official Site Updated » 935 weeks ago

I believe the website was updated as an afterthought when enough people suggested it at HTGTH to Mysteron. And what a great job they did of it.

At some point the mystery surrounding this album needs to be lifted and replaced by some enthusiasm and passion from the band.  For some of them this has been their life for the past 10yrs or so. For Axl its arguably his career defining moment

Letting the gaming company have their moment of glory is all very well, but how dull would it be if all we got was a few songs with no 'commentary' or excitement to go alongside it?

Our Financial Year starts in July.

Q1 = July - Sept
Q2 = Oct - Dec
Q3 = Jan - Mar
Q4 = Apr - Jun

So there!

I wander what Axl's Fiscal Quarters are?

Q1 = 2000 - 2002
Q2 = 2003 - 2005
Q3 = 2006 - 2008
Q4 = 2009 - 2010

Shit even in Axl land we may even have a fair chance of it being released!
