#921 Re: The Sunset Strip » STP REUNION! STRAIGHT FROM SCOTT'S MOUTH! » 955 weeks ago
Hopefully STP can put out a No. 4 type album while Axl reenacts Pee Wee's Big Adventure while looking for a lost bike.
That definitely gets karma!

I'm jumping on the Giants train as well:
Giants: 24
Patriots: 21
MVP: Eli Manning
***If I win I forfeit any prize to the next closest guess. (I wonder who Neemo will pick??)

Next year will be tougher I think, and based on that argument I have to reluctantly agree. I don't think anything should be taken away from what he has accomplished this year but I would much rather see the guy retire with such a positive note than to go out with a season like last. With the team so young however it would be so hard not to say "what if"? Thing is at 38 you just don't know when the abilities will really decline, but probably sooner than later

No offense to any VR fans but in my opinion they have always been a lot of horsepower with no real results. SLither is the only song that lives up to what these guys should be doing routinely. I'm much more psyched about a new STP album than another VR album if it's even remotely as bland as Libertad. This also opens up possibilities to a certain reunion many of us would like to see, although I'll admit I would like to have CD (if it even exists) first.

I agree Cusack. I've never been a fan of ultra-conservative coaches, especially in the post-season. That's one huge reason the Chargers didn't win today.

I wouldn't say that Packers are not as good as their record showed, they lost by a field goal in overtime (only second OT NFC playoff game in history I think) to a very good road team, a team that made history by winning ten in a row on the road and only the second wild card team to make it to the super bowl. Also a team that lost by only 3 pts to NE in week 17.
Favre certainly has been very good, without his age noone would question this or start the retirement talk again. Look at the facts: He threw for 4155 yards (4th in NFL), had a 95.8 passer rating (5th in NFL), threw for 28 touchdowns (6th in NFL) and averaged just over 259.7 yards per game which is 4th in the NFL. Those are good numbers for anyone, period.
The fact is Eli played a damned near perfect game and he hasn't played poorly in post season or the better part of the second season for the most part. Congradulations to the Giants and good luck in the Super Bowl. These guys only lost by three in the last meeting, I wouldn't blow them off to soon and for the first time in awhile something unique is happening...NE must play a team with a winning record that does not have key injuries.

The third and one pissed me off the most James. You are that close to the endzone and you do an end sweep against that defense...wtf?? Stupid ass call. Should have took it up the gut and they could have changed the tone of the game. The Patriots are very lucky to have won this game. Brady threw three interceptions, they got ran and passed on at will and still won. Bad coaching is the reason for the Pats victory today ala one N. Turner. I will give props to New England for doing what they had to do however. The only bad calls came from the Charger's coach, not the refs. I can live with that much better than the zebras deciding the victor. I did find it strange that the ref only called a five yard penalty against the Patriots for running into the kicker however. It's usually fifteen yards and an automatic first down, convenient how five yards made it a 4th and 1 and a punt for the Chargers instead of an automatic first. Nevertheless it was the Chargers who killed themselves.

If 2 upsets happen, not only will it shock the world, the NFL is gonna be majorly pissed with Giants-Chargers SB. Very anticlimactic to an amazing season, and ratings would be at an all time low.
If one upset happens, expect flags to be thrown like they are going out of style in the second game to ensure it doesn't happen again. The league is not interested in an underdog vs underdog SB.
Lofton, you have been posting some exceptional comments, seems like I have had to agree with you quite a bit lately...STOP IT ALREADY!!
Seriously, great points man.
However, I do believe that the Pats and Packs will be in the SB together but....IF Rivers and LT are at 100% and the D doesn't fall asleep I think this will be the upset if there is one. The Pats are obviously a great team but some luck has saved them from losing to some teams with only so-so records. The Chargers can run the ball and have a defense...the Pats don't handle that very well. So I'm predicting that this will be the upset if indeed one occurs. Chargers over Pats by 4!

if i could interject...its been said before by both Duff and Gilby, that all the material that the orig band had written was available...so we can prolly assume that all new material is post '96 at least
Good point Neemo, I remember them saying this as well.

I think Poe may have been the first author I really got into as a kid. This tribute is now at least 59 times but probably more. Interesting the visitor never gets caught.
