#931 Re: Guns N' Roses » Guns N' Roses Live From Rock In Rio » 762 weeks ago
So I missed all this cos of the time difference, I logged in full of expectation this morning (like an idiot) and it feels like Reading all over again!!
I've watched a couple of songs, Estranged, Jungle, ISE and to be honest I didn't think it was too bad. The sound wasn't great, there was a depth missing somehow both vocally and musically but that could be a mixing issue their end, my laptop, poor performance or just a mix of all the above. Having said that I've heard worse and it was first night, with no warm up shows as far as I know. So I guess they were bound to be a bit scratchy. I've only watched a fraction of the show though so maybe it gets worse.
Those fuming over no new material, well it was always a long shot anyway and maybe they'll break out some new stuff later in the tour. If they were having a bad night and they knew it was a bad night perhaps they made a call not to debut any new material. If you're sounding shit you can still play through the hits and 100,000 people can carry you, if you sound shit and nobody knows the song that stage is a very lonely place.
We've seen plenty of 'beginning of the end' type nights before but it never is. Let's just see how the next few weeks pan out. You never know a live boot of The General might be the number one played song on your mp3 player by November

To Whom It May Concern,
Please take KOHD out back and shoot it in the head.
Respectfully,
me
Never going to happen.
A staple since 87, well known GNR song/cover and it's also slow paced and therefore pretty easy to sing along with some audience participation. I can't see it ever being dropped tbh.
I understand why you want it dropped but to the vast majority at a GNR show it's a crowd pleaser so it stays.

Like everyone else, I'll believe it when I see it but I would love to see it! It'd be a positive move although like others have said only two CD songs in the set seems a little thin to me.
#934 Re: The Sunset Strip » Die Hard 5 » 765 weeks ago
It was more the one on one battle with a harrier jet through (literally) the freeway that ruined it for me in terms of plausable action.
Whilst we're talking Die Hard has anyone heard/seen this before?

DH4 is ok, worth a watch if you like the other movies but imo the worst of the 4. It starts out ok but by the end it just gets too far fetched to swallow. I'll probably still watch 5 though.

I was shocked to find out cassettes still made up HALF of all music sales by the early 90's. I thought CD's were really dominating by that point.
Most cars still only had tape players in though at that point so music for your car still had to be cassette.

I'm going to the cinema Wednesday night. Can't decide between Planet of the Apes or Super 8, which should I go see?

Uuuurgh I thought the Clooney suit was awful, along with the rest of the film. The Keaton '89' suit was the best imo.
I remember being sceptical when Ledger was cast as the Joker, until I saw the first pics released and the rest is history. So I'll wait to see the film before I start judging the casting or how any of the characters look etc. Nolans done a great job so far, I don't except him to muck up his trilogy at the final hurdle.

Horrible Bosses - Really enjoyed it, best comedy I've seen since The Hangover, and imo it runs Hangover pretty close as well.
Jennifer Aniston looks amazing in it as well which helps.
