I have no concrete evidence, but watchout for some Led Zep gigs towards the end of the year. I don't think there will be much notice, so for UK residents keep those fingers by the buzzers.

By 'end of the year' do you mean this year or next? And how do you know?

Cheers

Surprisingly, this year. Don't take my word for it though.

My brother went to school with Robert's son, my mum has played tennis with Robert a few times. So we hear bits and pieces from time to time, not necessarily from source but those around him.

Back to the original question, I don't think Azoff was brought in to get Bucket back. He was brought in to resurrect and reignite the Gnr brand by whatever means necessary.

Well he was definitely bought back to negotiate with the record company. Forget the members a moment, there's one big problem with GNR...they just can't seem to release music irrespective who's in and out.

So I would imagine thats his primary focus. One step at a time. And whatever comes of that may have an impact on what happens with regards to the members, a release date and a promotion plan maybe all it takes to bring back whomever they want.

I'd take Bucket or Robin over Tommy any day. Quite liked Village Gorilla Head though

As for Brain - I don't think we've heard a song yet that really shows off his skills - apparently we need to hear the General

#945 Re: Guns N' Roses » A Random Forum Post about Finck » 936 weeks ago

Here's my thoughts on Finck

- Really liked his role in NIN from when I saw the NIN DVD 'The Thing That Could Have Been'

- Was surprised when he first joined GNR and thought he looked a bit out of place (although that doesn't really bother me)

- I do think he had his moments on some of the old songs live. I think he was trying to add his signature with the off key thing, but it just didn't suit the songs, probably because we've heard them so many times, and really you can't fuck around with them.

- Listening to the leaks again, I get his contribution. I think the song Better was excellent, and I think his style of playing really fitted the new stuff.

- As a person, he seemed really cool, and his new image fit GNR well. I also liked his website, his art and he just seemed a likeable character

Overall, if it was up to me they'd keep Finck but bring back the Bucket. Despite whether they got on or not I feel that their styles seemed to blend well together and I think if the album was released, they toured again but played mostly new songs we would see a diffrent side of all of the band, Brain included. It seems such a waste

I also think Robin had a lot to do with the songwriting, probably more than we appreciate right now, its just we've heard more of Bucket's contribution which is less subtle.

then again, the reason why Azoff/Gould got hired is because Axl needs someone blame all his shit on....Goldstein is no longer there, Merck left ages ago....blaming band members is too old, it would never work anymore....he just needs someone else to shoulder the blame....and Azoff's as good as anyone else...

I sense another "open letter to fans" coming beginning of next year when we get nothing again....

If Azoff is as savvy as is reported I don't think he would fall for that...especially if Merck recommended him. And I also believe he would have been given a clear direction  by Axl i.e.

- get the album released
- get bucket back

etc etc

Well I can imagine that a BH song would appear in the nightmare section.

This makes no sense...

Mysteron confirmed "Shackler's Revenge" as a new GN'R song, and now it was a BS rumor, and the song WON'T be in the game?

Who found out the "Shackler's Revenge" title then?

Has anything ever made sense with GNR?

Makes you wander when they finally release the album how they will handle the press. No wander the record company wanted them to  have some decent management

I don't think the haters are running out of hate, they're running out of excuses.

The BH haters have a new trick now.  Those in powerful positions, such as serial Buckethead hater Madison on mygnr (hope I don't get banned there for posting this, LOL!), are now deleting posts to make it look like BH bashers have won the argument.  I don't know if you saw recently: but posts by JL, bigbri, and another Buckethead fan on mygnr (maybe Funeral or someone?) got deleted to make it look like Nesquik had somehow won the argument.  Figures.

OMG Is Nesquick still around bashing on BH. The guy never stopped for years, he was obsessive, even by GNR forum member standards. Thats quite a put dowm to have your post deleted.

I'm also quite surprised how tolerant HTGTH appear to have been of Buckethead posts recently.
