I can't be bothered to even contemplate that, as far as I'm concerned he was awake. The End. 16

I heard Michael Cain on the radio this morning and his interpretation was that Leo was back in the real world at the end. Mainly because he himself (Cain) features in the scene and throughout the film he only appears in Leo's real world and not the dream world.

Shame they seem to have dropped all the heavier tracks from CD for now (excluding CD). If they're going to play 5 CD songs I'd have thought the more well known ones would be a better bet to get more of the crowd into it. CD and Better were both singles, ITW was on Body of Lies and SR was on Rock Band, they should be the staples on the setlist imo.

I can only assume it's a vocal thing for Axl as Sorry, SOD, TIL and Madagascar are all pretty slow tempo tracks.

Having said that, if the band are nailing the performances then it's only a minor complaint. I'd rather they focused on showing up and performing than the setlist tbh.

Yep you're right it's said like Red-ing.

You're right about the BS madagas, on the radio this morning the headline was how Axl Rose got bottled off stage for being an hour and a half late. When they told the story in detail it was down to an hour late but when they came on they played a shortened set to those few still in attendance.

In reality it appears GNR were 30 mins late and played a full set to what looks to be at least 3/4 of the crowd. GNR don't help themselves but lies and exaggerations in the media don't do anybody any favours either.

God I sound like Jarmo...

I think it also depends how the late starts are handled by the venue. I saw VR in 05 who were meant to come on at 9pm and came on at 9.45pm, now the response to that was lots of booing that died away when they came on. In 06 I saw GNR at the same venue again 9pm scheduled start but when we got there there were posters up and people on the doors saying tonights performance is likely to start later than scheduled. GNR hit the stage around 10.15 with nothing more than light hearted banter from the crowd beforehand.

Problem right now is GNR are in the spotlight due to Reading, the media is watching out, waiting to be outraged by GNR's next late start. So therefore the start time is under the microscope even more by those at the gig. I'm not a big fan of the late starts but to be honest a 10.26 start really isn't all that bad and I wonder if the reaction last night wasn't all the worse for the shit storm in the media surrounding GNR over the weekend.

Never a quiet day with GNR (except from 94-01 and 02-06). They just covered the story on radio 1 and didn't paint the prettiest picture to be honest, not good coverage when you've still got shows to sell over here in a months time.

I think the lateness and bottles being thrown in general should be viewed as two seperate incidents. I can't speak for last night and those bottles maybe were thrown in anger due to the late start but in general I think bottles/items being thrown on stage isn't always done in anger. I've been to shows where there's not an angry face in the crowd and still bottles/cups get thrown around. I think for the most part it's done by dickheads who think they're being funny, trying to impress their mates or get some attention. Stupid and potentially dangerous yes but not necessarily in malice or anger at the performer. Trouble is I think Axl sees anything hard being thrown onstage (as opposed to say a flag) as a personal insult and an attempt to hurt him. Then of course if you factor in that you've done yourself no favours keeping the crowd waiting for so long, when you then tell them that they cannot do something it's not going to go over too well (Axl of all people should understand this), irrespective of whether they should be doing it in the first place.

I like DJ, only thing is he does look like he's trying to be Slash. I know that was his image before he joined GNR but the top hat, smoking while he's playing and even his stance is similar, just invites criticism imo.

16 I agree Olorin, that review makes me wanna be sick a little bit. I'm all for a positive GNR review and from all accounts it sounds like the show was excellent but give me a break, the essay above is nauseating. I'm glad they enjoyed the show and felt compelled to write a review but it reads like a cheesy 'Mills and Boon' sex scene.

As the last drop of my drink touched the tip of my tongue the Odyssey's magnificent lighting dimmed. An aura rose up around the Arena as the audience gasped in delight at the sight of activity. Thoughts tinkered in the air as DJ Ashba toyed with the idea of springing the concert to life.

Seriously?
