You don't wanna know what I classify GN'R as. 16

I just think Soundgarden squandered a ton of hype, unless they had full-intention of going back to Louder Than Love-era status, so everyone would bug off.

I know they are all living in Seattle again, but I feel Cornell's solo career is far too lucrative for him to sit around having disagreements again, he 's not used to, nor does he have to put up with, as they hammer out fresh SG tunes.

I think he'll fall back into his solo stuff. I felt from the first day this thing started that he'd want/need it to take off like a rocket, at least in the revisionist-grunge crowd, to be interested in sticking with it again.

Like I said, I think they're just gonna stick to polishing the vault and releasing it, sans tour right now. I call that "dead in the water", because they wouldn't be A) writing new songs, and B) touring, which means C) not a really active.

It'd be like Axl, Slash, Duff, Izzy, Matt & Dizzy teaming up and finishing those '95-'97 songs, releasing them, not touring, and calling it an active Guns N' Roses reunion.

it has to be Chris stopping the writing of a new album, I'd say he's hurtin' the least for cash and exposure.

Maybe their writing process is very fraught? Anybody got the skinny on that?

Sometimes I wonder if they're purposely trying to rival the "Chinese Democracy" saga.  It wouldn't surprise me if they kept us strung along for the next 5 years or so.  I mean, how many times have we heard about an announcement coming up or some progress being made yet we see and hear nothing of the sort?  I've lost count  And I've also lost a lot of interest.  For as much as a clusterfuck as the CD saga was, I was glued to the tube, so to speak, right up until the end.  This saga doesn't have the legs for me.  If they find someone, good.  If not, life goes on.

I personally don't think they can come to an agreement on who the fuck they want.

It REALLY sounds like there's a locked vote in VR for who they want to go with OR the other guy hasn't been wooed yet. Slash's comment of "Really Known Guy" just thickens the plot.

Would be funny as shit for VR to just perform a show in LA with their 'new singer', start up Jungle and Axl busts up to the front with his scream. No one would see it coming. They'd be waiting for GN'R to make the move, then VR goes and does it and kicks everyone in the teeth blindsided.

It won't happen, but it'd be cool. 9

I would still love to hear with what Axl would have done with some of those Contraband tunes.

I think if they had released it in 1995 as a GNR album it would have been huge. It would captured the sound of the time and bettered it.

Just rambling..

Yeah, given that Contraband had a bit of a modern rock and kinda grungy feel at times, it would have fit right in around 1995.
